Beyoncé Shows Barack Obama Some Lurve
Beyoncé and clandestine hubby Jay-Z were spotted around town here in NYC yesterday afternoon (on the 4 month anniversary of their secret nuptials) and B was snapped wearing a Barack Obama Progress t-shirt:

Call it a crazy hunch but I think that Beyoncé might be supporting Obama in the upcoming presidential campaign. Yes?

Maybe McCain could use this in his new ads.

I totally agree with Panti..she looks damn good in that outfit! Casual is very flattering for her! Maybe she should do it more often. They make such a cute couple!! I am happy for them!

maybe this time she’ll actually VOTE instead of just telling everyone else to…

does anyone know where this shirt is from??
i love it and the one halle berry wore last week – when i look up obama shirts they never come up! do they have some special political tshirt designer to the stars??? the other ones just aren’t so cute!

I can’t believe stars think their political views matter. Beyonce is talented at singing and dancing, but she’s not exactly the person I look to for foreign policy matters. Get over yourselves, Hollywood! And PS, if Obama were white, would anyone care about him?

For those who wanted to know where the shirt is from:

She’s not wearing this shirt while performing, she’s wearing the shirt out on a day off. certainly people shouldnt base their opinions on celebrities, but if a celebrity wants to speak their mind, why not? If a non-famous person were to wear a political shirt or spout his/her views, would it be as annoying?
I kind of dont like how Obama is so trendy even though I absolutely support him and his policies. But I think partly because he’s younger and newer and different than a lot of other politicians (and NO I dont mean because he’s black.)
Susan–McCain USED to be a moderate. Ever since he stepped into the election he’s flip flopped on his policies so that it coincides with Bush’s agenda.

Actually, it does somewhat annoy me when everyday people wear political t-shirts, because it’s preachy and pretentious, but I know that about 0% of the people who see them are influenced by it. The fact that celebrities’ political views actually carry weight with some of their fans is what disturbs me. These people are famous for their performing talents, which have nothing whatsoever to do with political insight, education, or awareness of social or economic policy.

@chelsea – thx!

Wow Julie, you said a crap load of stupid things. I’ll ignore you’re “would anyone care if he were white?” because it’s too dumb to address. I will laugh at you asking why celebrities think we care. She’s wearing a shirt because she wants to. She’s not making a public service announcement. Regardless of what you think about political t-shirts in general, this is strictly a personal thing and she can wear it if she wants.
I’m surprised she wore it though. She’s always been very concerned with career preservation and not offending anyone so it’s good to see her express herself. I always was unsure if she was a Dem or not because Destiny’s Child performed at Bush’s inaugral bash in 2000, and she’s from a well-off Texan family. Julie will laugh at me saying this, but it’s fun to see my favorite celebrity isn’t a Republican:)

I get a laugh at these Obama supporters!!! What a joke!! He’s such an empty suit!!!
Umm, Ummm….. Ummmm…. Ummm. Ahhh…. ahhh…… is how he talks when a teleprompter isn’t in his sight…. even my 8 yr old makes fun of him!!!!
Oh, and he looks like Barney Fife!!! Google that, bitches!!!!

No, Fatima, I didn’t laugh at you. I just calmly observed that you’re the one who accuses people of being stupid, and can’t punctuate very well.

Beyoncé’s the flip-flopper–didn’t she play at one of Bush’s inaugurations? That’s a serious about-face. I don’t care that she’s a celebrity with an opinion, I just seriously doubt she sincerely has one (versus jumping on a popular bandwagon).
