A Fantastic ‘Voyage’
The TV Guide

Since David and I returned home from our Wyoming trip late Sunday night, we didn’t have all that much planned socially for Monday. He had a couple of meetings to take care of yesterday so I just hung out for a bit at Century City, reading and enjoying the afternoon. It was a really nice afternoon of having to do nothing. For dinner, we went to Ulysses Voyage at The Grove for a delicious Greek meal. Mike turned me on to that place (and I loved it) so I thought it would be nice to take David there. The meal was just amazingly good … if any of y’all live in the SoCal area and haven’t tried it yet, I highly recommend it. It’s technically in the Farmer’s Market section of The Grove but it’s a full restaurant, with indoor and outdoor seating.

That was pretty much my day … I’m almost finished with Book 2 of the Twilight series: New Moon and I am really enjoying it. The story shift is an interesting one, I should have the book finished by tonight. This weekend, tho, I started and almost read the entirety of Juliana Hatfield‘s new memoir When I Grow Up. She is an amazing musician, I’ve been a fan of hers for years and am really enjoying her book. She makes much more sense to me know. Incidentally, her new album How to Walk Away is available for purchase today — I mention this in case there are any Juliana fans out there who weren’t aware that her new album was released to day (I just found out myself Sunday night).

David flies back to NYC tonight … I get to enjoy the rest of the week here in SoCal before I go home to Detroit on Sunday. Oh yeah!

    Hey Trent;

    The 2nd Twilight book is actually called ‘New Moon’ – thought I’d tip you off about the typo before your site is attacked by angry diehards DISTRAUGHT that you could possibly make a typo about the best book, like, ever haha.

    Love the sight, and come back to Londontown again, there’s so much to see!

  2. Hahaha, thanks! I fixed it :)

    Trent, I was skeptical of this whole Twilight phenomenon, but I read all the books last week, and couldn’t put them down. I was kinda disappointed with New Moon for the lack of Edward, but I understand why. And Breaking Dawn could use one more chapter at the end I believe. Can’t wait to see what you say about the other two!!

    The new Juliana Hatfield album is so good. Check out “This Lonely Love” with the genius Richard Butler (The Psychedelic Furs) doing backing vocals. Mmm mmm.

    If you’re into Henna, you should go to a place called Ziba whenever you go to Chik-Fil-A again in the South Bay Galleria. I got one Saturday and it turned out nice. The people in there are very friendly.

    Hey trent! I see your reading the twilight saga. It gets better with each book!! New moon is awesome towards the end. Eclispe (third book) is the best one imo. :) Happy reading!

    trent! hope all is well. when i read that you were reading new moon, i felt compelled to respond. i’ve read the series and just fyi, breaking dawn was pretty awful (save for few parts)– but i can’t wait to hear what you think of it. don’t get me wrong, i’m totally/embarassingly addicted to the series and it’s definitely my favorite guilty pleasure of the year (and obvs am kind of thrilled about the movie release date being bumped up). but the writing is hysterically terrible imho…

    have you heard of twatlight? you can google it.

    xoxo

    ps. for the fans who get all sorts of pissed off when i deflate their ~*dazzle*~ by insinuating (or flat-out stating) that s.meyer isn’t a literary genius: Y SO SRS, BBs?
