‘Heroes’ Season 3 Is Comin’ Atcha

The promo pic to prove it
Thursday, August 7th, 2008

Here they come … our fave Heroes and villains … check out this new promo pic that has been released by NBC to promote the upcoming third season of Heroes:

Aww yeah … it looks like the gang’s all here … including some new faces (I think) and the absence of a couple of horrrrrible characters (so long Maya and Alejandro — go cry your black tears somewhere else). Season 3 is all about Villains and the possibilities are endless … I can’t wait, the new season premieres on NBC on September 22.

Milo Ventimiglia Does ‘Corduroy’ Magazine

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

Milo Ventimiglia is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Corduroy magazine … here are a few pics and a few quotes from his coverstory:

He’s known for playing bad boys and tortured souls, but in a new interview with Corduroy Magazine, Milo Ventimiglia reveals a surprisingly different side of himself. Whether admitting that his sisters dressed him up as Madonna when he was young (circa “Lucky Star”/faux-beauty mark phase) or talking about his long-held desire to be a doctor, the 31-year-old gets candid in his most revealing interview to date. “I had a completely normal upbringing,” he says, “which I’m very happy about. It’s a nice example that you don’t have to be a fuck-up, you don’t have to come from a broken family, or be high on drugs, or have lived on the streets to be able to succeed in the industry. When I was younger, my peers would always talk about the hard times and the down times, and how that helped them to get to that better place as an actor. It’s like, no man, that put you in rehab.” On being a celebrity: “I don’t even think my personal life is that exciting,” he says. “I don’t understand why somebody would want to see pictures of me dropping off my dry cleaning. It’s like, seriously? Someone got paid to sit in front of my house and watch me move my trashcans? I don’t get it, but it is what it is.”

Um, hello. If Milo owned a mirror then he would totes understand why people are not only interested it in his life but also like seeing pictures of him dropping off his dry cleaning … preferably nekkid ;) I just love how down-to-earth Milo is. He’s a dope guy, I’m looking forward to weekly visits from the gent once Heroes starts up again in a few weeks.

The Beckham Boys <3 Soccer

Like father, like sons
Thursday, August 7th, 2008

Here are a few super, duper cute pics of David Beckham and his eldest boys Brooklyn and Romeo enjoying an afternoon of soccer training and play together her in LA this week:

David Beckham’s little protégé Romeo proved he is every inch his father’s son during a training session in Los Angeles yesterday. The five-year-old showed he has the makings of greatness as he mirrored the LA Galaxy star’s kicking technique to a tee while running around the pitch in the famous 23 jersey. Beckham Senior was on hand for a spot of coaching, occasionally showing his son a move or two from the sidelines.

The littlest Beckham, Cruz, was nowhere to be seen … clearly he had better things to do. Mebbe he was working on his breakdancing moves or something. In any event, I love seeing pics of Becks and his boys playing soccer. I’m sure it fills Becks with endless pride to see his boys take to the sport he loves so much. I’m sure he has high hopes that Beckham soccer dynasty will live on once his boys get old enough to play professionally … but, that is still a long way off. Right now, the guys are just having fun playing around together. It’s really very sweet, don’t you think?

Did Beyoncé Get Whited Out?

Because she's worth it?
Thursday, August 7th, 2008

Earlier this week a new ad campaign photo for Feria haircolor by L’Oréal Paris featuring Beyoncé Knowles made its way to the Interweb and astute viewers (you know, people with eyes) noticed that Beyoncé was lookin’ much whiter than she usually looks (which isn’t white at all) and speculation began to go around that the folks at L’Oréal Paris might’ve lightened her skin tone a bit for the ad campaign. But today, E! News reports that L’Oréal Paris is categorically denying that they did any such thing. HMMM. Here is a pic of Beyoncé and the ad in question in a side-by-side comparison so that you can judge for yourself:

Looks can be deceiving. Apparently. Yesterday, a new print ad for L’Oréal Paris’ Feria hair color surfaced, featuring a seemingly paler than usual Beyoncé Knowles. Today, the French cosmetics giant is adamantly denying that it gave its longtime spokeswoman a case of the Michael Jacksons. “Beyoncé Knowles has been a spokesperson for the L’Oréal Paris brand since 2001,” the company said in a statement to E! News, after coming under withering online attacks suggesting the ad (on right, above) lightened more than just the hair color of the brand’s famous face. “We highly value our relationship with Ms. Knowles. It is categorically untrue that L’Oréal Paris altered Ms. Knowles’ features or skin-tone in the campaign for Feria’s hair color.” A rep for the 27-year-old Knowles declined to comment beyond the L’Oréal statement. The ad is appearing in this month’s Elle. So far the magazine has not said anything about possible Pantone issues.

HMM. Well there is no question that Beyoncé looks much lighter in the Feria ad to me so the question becomes, why does her skin tone look so much lighter. It’s possible that the Elle magazine printing may be the cause of the lightening but I dunno if Elle is gonna wanna take on that responsibility. I sincerely hope that this lightening is just an error somewhere along the line and it wasn’t purposely decided by someone that it would be wise to make an African American woman look lighter just to sell more hair color. Tho, we may never get a either an admittance or a solid answer one way or the other.

Is Gwen Stefani Ready To Pop?

Is her second baby about to make its debut?
Thursday, August 7th, 2008

Here are a couple pics of Gwen Stefani and her MASSIVE baby bump as she made her way into a hospital here in LA earlier today:

Homegirl looks pretty ripe for birthin’ a baby. I don’t believe she was checking herself into the hospital to bring forth the fruit of her loins just yet but she must be very, very close. Within the week? What do we think?

Kwame Kilpatrick Busted!

Now with 100% more mug shot
Thursday, August 7th, 2008

The Wayne County jail that has been honored with the duty of incarcerating the sitting mayor of Detroit, Michigan, Kwame Kilpatrick, has just released his lovely mugshot which I know present to all y’all:

In case you missed it earlier, Kwame Kilpatrick (the disgraceful current mayor of the city of Detroit) was sentenced to a spend a night in jail for violating the terms of his bond stemming from a criminal charge against him of obstruction of justice and perjury (read all about it HERE) and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department has just released his booking photo. It’s a dark day for the city of Detroit but hopefully it is the beginning of a bright new future … once Kilpatrick is removed from office and a more fitting mayor can be installed/elected.

Wülfie’s Big Day Out

The TV Guide
Thursday, August 7th, 2008

Wee! Yesterday was my first full day back in LA after my recent world tour to London, Paris and NYC which meant that I was *FINALLY* able to spend the day driving my new car :) Because I had an appointment in Beverly Hills, I was able to take my new baby, Wülfgang Jürgen-Klaüs, out for a spin on the mean streets of LA …

… which basically meant that I spent a lot of time in stop and go traffic ;( Ah well, it was still fun getting to drive my car for the first time since bringing it home from the dealership! OMG, I am so in love with it … it is such a swank car, weeee! Last night, I met up with Jordan for dinner at Pho Cafe and then we made our way to a charming little French bistro nearby to just sit and chat. I love Jo Jo, he and I don’t spend nearly enough time hanging out as we should.

Today, I am getting my hair chopped off … it is so overdue for a cut, I might have to just shave it all off. I dunno, I think I need a change. Afterward, I’m meeting up with Darion for dinner and hanging out … ah, it’s great to be back home again :)
