These Boots Were Made For Sweating
Especially in the blistering SoCal heat

Vicki B. stepped out to do a bit of shopping at The Grove earlier this week with a stylist friend and only her middle child (the sweet one) along for the trip … and for some ungodly reason, VB thought it would be a good idea to let her son, Romeo Beckham, venture out in public wearing a pair of sheepskin lined UGGs boots in the sweltering summer heat, behold:

Stiletto aficionado Victoria Beckham once criticised Americans for their love of comfy Ugg boots. But it seems her son doesn’t share her disdain. Romeo, 5, was spotted kicking around LA in sheepskin shoes while on a shopping trip with Posh. The middle Beckham boy followed his mother – and her stylist – as she trawled for new outfits in a range of stores, including Abercrombie & Fitch. Before moving to LA, she said she was unimpressed with the Stateside approach to fashion. Victoria, who is currently working on a new collection of high-end frocks, said at the time: “They dress down quite a lot here, don’t they? It seems to be in keeping to go to Starbucks in tracksuit bottoms and Ugg boots.” And while she has stayed true to her over-styled look, her family has certainly embraced all-American living. As well as fashion, the Beckham boys now also share the US obsession with basketball, and are regulars at LA Lakers games along with their father David. The former Spice Girl has previously said her family has no plans to return to Britain. She says: “We’ve loved every minute so far. I can’t see us going back.”

UHHHH … I don’t even know quite what to say. UGGs boots are a travesty overall (comfy, I know but really unattractive) but to wear them in the summer heat … what ever was dear little Romeo thinking? That boy needs to get a better handle on his fashion choices tout suite before someone comes along and scratches his eyes out!

I despise uggs, too ugly to even try on. Nearly as bad as crocs. (ew!)

The fact that anyone would discuss this, let alone take the time to write about it, is extremely depressing.

Though they don’t look like a smart choice for summer, Ugg’s keep your feet at room temperature in the cold and in the heat. It’s wonderful insulation. This winter I was wearing a pair while driving in my and usually have the heat going at my feet, and that time I noticed that my feet weren’t getting hot and sweaty like they usually do in my other shoes. Romeo was probably just thinking about how comfortable he is, he’s a guy and a kid, that’s usually the primary thing on their minds. Good for Victoria letting him make his own dressing decisions. In her book she talked about how Uggs shouldn’t be worn outside, I like that she let him make his own decision about that, even if her pretty robot face is cringing on the inside.

Actually Trent, it’s “tout DE suite” ;)

don’t worry, those boots will still keep your feet warm up to 85 degree weather.

don’t worry again, i don’t know that from personal use, but i buy them for a living so i’ve seen their copy points a million times.

Anyone with kids knows that sometimes it’s easier to let your kids make their own fashion mistakes than spend an hour trying to rationalize with a five year old.
I love that Vicki B is a smart enough Mom to realize this (I figured this out when I saw the pics of Cruz wearing his Halloween costume while going out to lunch! It reminded me of my own kids!)
But I agree with whoever wrote that Uggs are HIDEOUS. I hope, hope, hope this little “trend” dies a quick death in the near future.

Ehhh, I don’t care that people think UGGS are ugly. They are comfortable as hell and I will continue to wear them. I mean really, have you seen some of the hideous crap that gets touted as “high fashion”. In the grand scheme of things, UGGS just aren’t that bad. That being said, I don’t wear mine in the summer because just looking at them makes me warm, even if they are supposed to keep your feet cool.

Unless you’ve worn the shoe (whether that be UGGS or Crocs) then you can’t really knock them.

I have a pair of Uggs and they are very comfortable and recently I managed to get a pair of Crocs and they are extremely comfortable as well and will probably buy more. The Crocs aren’t the most fashionable thing in the world but as I, and none of you most likely, live my life on a runway, they are fine for going to the store or lounging around the house.

My mom used to let me pick out my own clothes for the day, too. I’ve got the pictures to prove how hideous my fashion choices were. I’m sure many of you are guilty as well. I just see these pics as a touch of normalcy for Les Beckhams. “Mom, can’t I wear my Uggs, pleeeeeze”

uggs are specail and made for any temp. they keep your feet relaxed no matter what the weather. they are made in austrailia so obviously can stand the heat.
