Sunnydale High, Class Of ’08
The TV Guide

Yesterday afternoon I met up with Darion and Kirsten at D’s place because we made plans to drive down to Torrance, CA to spend some time in Sunnydale. As you may or may not know, Sunnydale High and the house that was used as Buffy Summers‘s home are real places that exist in Torrance, CA. Sunnydale High (which is also West Beverly High in Beverly Hills, 90210) is actually Torrance High School and Buffy‘s house is a regular house on a street in Torrance. Here are a couple pics of us in front of “Buffy‘s House”:

Yes, we brought along an official stake prop replica from Buffy the Vampire Slayer for use in our photos … we’re cheesy geeks, we’re well aware. We also spent some time (well, quite a bit of time) on the grounds at Sunnydale High (um, Torrance High). After the jump, check out a whole slew of our fun pics from that excursion …

I previously visited both “Buffy‘s house” and “Sunnydale High” many years ago with Erik but this was the first time that Kirsten, Darion and I made the trip together (they had never been). Because the new CW TV series 90210 is going to use Torrance High as West Beverly High again, we were afraid that the grounds might be locked up and we wouldn’t be able to visit the famed courtyard. Fortunately, there was nary a sign of any film production in the area. The school was closed up and empty and we were able to hang out, snap pics and act like complete dorks:

We seriously had the best time ever. All 3 of us are huge BtVS fans so this was such a treat for us. We’ve been talking about making this trek to Torrance for months and we finally did it … it was a blast :) I realize that folks who aren’t fans of BtVS may not get these pics but I’m certain that fans of the show can appreciate how cool yesterday was for us. It was all the more fun since Darion and Kirsten are such überfans and really good friends. It’s easy to publicly embarrass yourself when you’ve got amazing friends to share the embarrassment with ;)

After our visit, we grabbed some food and then chilled for a bit at D’s place.

This afternoon looks like it’s gonna be bizzy. VW called, they have some paperwork for me to fill out … I may be getting my car sooner than I anticipated. Later on tonight, Darion and I are going to a midnight showing of Batman: The Dark Knight. It looks like it’s gonna be a great day :)

I don’t usually comment either, but this is too cool! It’s so nice to have a huge Buffy fan out there blogging! I love that you got in front of Buffy’s house and then Sunnydale High! It looks exactly the same as it did 10 years ago! Props to you for having the prop replica stake, I have it as well and it’s a great buy! Bravo for this article Trent!

Lol, I’m a South Bay girl and am always in and around Torrance. I used to pass by this school all the time. So nice to see Torrance getting the respect it deserves!

And to echo Michelle earlier, there is another Chick Fil-A at the Del Amo Mall in Torrance!! Right down the street from the school =)

I’m so glad that a big name such as yourself is blogging about the wonders of Buffy. It makes my friends think I’m a whole lot less nerdy when others talk about their love for the show!
