Speidi Shoot Down Rumors
Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt sat down with Extra TV to explain those photos that came out recently that showed the couple armed with guns at a shooting range. Additionally, the couple talk about Heidi’s clothing line Heidiwood and their involvement with the McCain family. It’s all you’ve ever wanted to know about Speidi (or, mebbe not) in one fell swoop:

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt on “Extra” reacting to controversy over a recent photo featuring the duo on a gun range. Pratt comments, “We went once, it’s not like we’re rolling around with guns … guns are not a toy. We don’t promote guns.” He continues, “We were under supervision of three trained professionals.” Montag, whose stepbrother was killed in the Iraq War, is planning a trip to perform for American troops stationed in the Middle East. She says, “My brother was an airborne ranger in Afghanistan and Iraq. It’s very important to me and important to Spencer to support the troops and go over there.” Montag reveals details about her budding friendship with presidential hopeful Senator John McCain’s daughter, Meghan, commenting, “She’s very sweet. We have a lot in common.” Pratt adds, “I think Meghan McCain is helping organize Heidi and our Iraq trip. Her dad definitely has some pull with the military. I think she’s going to put that together for us.” The reality television couple viewers love to hate spill details about their upcoming videogame, Pratt says, “We’re eventually going to have our videogame that UBI-Soft is going to design for us sold at Kitson … it’s top secret … get ready. All your wildest dreams are going to be in it.” Asked about her clothing line, Heidiwood, Montag declares, “It’s selling really well. It’s one of the #1 selling celebrity clothing lines.” Montag and Pratt are one of Hollywood’s only couples who admit they “love the paparazzi.” Pratt declares, “You know it’s a business, they are helping promote us … they are hard working.” Montag adds, “Everyone always complains about them. At the end of the day, why are you in the entertainment business if you don’t embrace that part of it?” Asked about rumors the couple plans to wed on the Season 4 finale of The Hills, Pratt jokes, “We’re not planning on having LC narrate our wedding.” In response to whether fellow Hills stars, Lauren and Audrina, are friends this week, Montag laughs, “I don’t really know … what are their names?”
Love them or hate them — Heidi and Spencer really know how to make a splash and make the most out of every opportunity available to them. They’re 100% right about having to deal with the paparazzi … of course it’s a business and, I totally agree, if you don’t like the attention from the photogs then you prolly shouldn’t be in the Entertainment field. While I don’t agree with their political associations, I do find them extremely entertaining. They push so many buttons … people get so riled up by the mere mention of their names — clearly, they are doing something right. I’m looking forward to this trip to Iraq that they mention … I can’t wait to see the pics that will follow. The video game and Christian album, I think I’ll pass on … but that’s the good thing about Speidi — if you don’t like one thing they’re associated with, wait for about 10 mins. and something else will come along.

UGH! He wasnt killed IN the war. He died from falling off a roof after he had been sent back home. I cant stand Heidi and Spencer. When hes around, she looks like a puppet on his lap.
July 21st, 2008 at 2:15 pm
Yep, I was thinking the same thing…I live in Colorado and, yes, her step brother did in fact die here…in Steamboat Springs, not in combat!!!

If that “videogame” isn’t complete b.s., I’ll never buy another Ubisoft game if they waste time on trash like that.

I thought her brother fell of a roof here in US although he did serve in Iraq. He didn’t die in the Iraq war. How come the person writing that article didn’t catch that????

Look Trent,
I do not watch TV, therefore I’ve never seen The Hills (yes I live in a cave).
YET, I find these two absolutely empty and uninteresting. Not to mention attention hungry and totally opportunistic. So they are OK with the paparazzi, so what? They say the paparazzi help to promote them, I say that your blog is also helping to promote them.
And you’re okay with that?!?!?!?!

Her bro did fall off a roof shoveling snow. My best friends husband works at the resort Heidi’s bro worked at. He said Heidi and Spencer called the local police telling them they needed coverage from the paps and no paps even showed up. Maybe it was out of respect, but probably more like cause they dont care about them enough to travel out of Cali. They though they would be totally bombarded, when really no one cares about them. Hilarious! The cops got a laugh out of it too.

I don’t like that whole “why are you in the entertainment business if you don’t embrace that part of it” talk…I know this is probably a harsh comparison, but I liken that comment to a rapist who says a girl “asked for it” because of the way she was dressed…I always think of the Al Pacinos and the Sean Penn’s out there. They are in the entertainment business to do just that–ENTERTAIN us. Not via Star, People, US Weekly or OK magazine but through their work.
The Speidi’s have their place, of course. Just NOT in my world..

Please god – make these two go away!
July 21st, 2008 at 9:18 pm
She’s cute.

The guys and gals in Iraq just love it when young privledged white boys like Spencer show their “support” by sitting their scared asses in the U.S. instead of going over there to fight.

omg PLEASE STOP GIVING THESE LOSERS ATTENTION!! pleeeeeeeeeeease just make them go away!!

OF COURSE they’re for the papparazzi… that’s how they continue to be famous! I don’t think they have any business talking about how true celebrities, famous for having actual TALENT, should feel about people intruding into their private lives 24/7. If you’re openly inviting the paps into your life, as these 2 do, then yes you should embrace them b/c they’re there b/c of you. But for celebrities who are actually trying to just do their job, and who aren’t trying to bring so much attention to themselves and whoring themselves around all over town, they totally have a right to complain about the breech of privacy.

God they are so plastic and annoying, they make me itch.
July 22nd, 2008 at 5:38 am
Extra needs to get their shiz right. Heidi’s brother was a veteran of Iraq; however, he died when he fell off a roof while shoveling snow. And one more thing: please, oh please, let the insurgents capture these two turds!

Trent-
Thank you for bringing back commenting!! I love to read what others are thinking. ^^^^ hers is the best yet!! :)
Love this sight!!

Trent,
When you keep promoting couples like this, you’re loosing credibility. Seriously.
It’s just kind of sad.

Just say the trailer for The Hills season 4 and it looks awesome! Stephanie is stirring up trouble and the one good thing about her being on the show is that it takes screen time away from Heidi and Spencer’s drama (of which I’m so over it). She’s quickly becoming the new villian. I like it.
July 22nd, 2008 at 9:01 am
Oops, meant just saw (not say) The Hills season 4 trailer. It’s over at MTV if you want to check it out.
July 23rd, 2008 at 1:09 am
