Quand Vous Souhaitez Sur Une Étoile

The TV Guide
July 30th, 2008

Yesterday was a very fun … very long day. Steph and I hopped a train and made our way to Disneyland Paris (which is celebrating it’s 15th year anniversary this year) for a half-day at Le Royaume Magique. Because David and Alek had a lot of work to do (and, more prolly cuz they didn’t wanna) they opted out of the Disney fun with us … nonetheless, we had a blast as these photos can attest:

Let me tell you … it was hot and humid but we still had a lot of fun. I was very impressed with the park itself … Disneyland Paris has a bunch of really great attractions and a Space Mountain ride that beats the hell out of the original in Anaheim, CA. Too much fun, let me tell you … we ended up staying a bit longer than we wanted to (the wait for Thunder Mountain was killer) but overall, it was a great success. Because we were pretty much wiped the eff out afterwards, we all made it an early night in. Steph cooked an amazing dinner to round out the night. So much fun!!

Today is shopping day, so I’m looking forward to that ;)

Oh, and because it is after all …

Enjoy this vid of our full ride of the It’s A Small World ride.

  10. canuckistani Says:

Why would you go to an American attraction in Paris? You can do that at home. It’s so typically American. Are you eating at McDonald’s too and avoiding the strange French cuisine???

  18. Heather - ATL Says:

Cool! Thanks! Love the North America part of the ride. I always wished they had that here in the states too. That was so neat to see! :)

  19. Jessica Says:

Um, so let me get this straight. You live in America – home of Disney – and went to Paris – one of the greatest cultural capitals of the world, teaming with art, heritage and some of the gastronomic delights – only to go to Disneyland. Wow.

Way to confirm every stereotype the wider world holds about Americans.

  20. John M Says:

Why bother going to Paris if you are going to waste time going to friggin Disneyland? Can you be more pathetic? I’m embarrassed for you since you probably don’t have enough sense to be embarrassed for yourself.

  21. Anders Raymond Says:

    good but boring

  22. Kathleen Says:

:P LOL, having grown up in the OC, I am partial to the ORIGINAL Disneyland…It certainly looks like FUN!! And, it truly IS a SMALL world afterall…cuz I live in ITALY now!! CHE BELLA!! CIAO!

  23. Rachel Says:

Your friend is a trip! Love these pictures.

  24. Kyle Says:

Haha, I actually pulled the sword out of the stone in there and I got to be King for a day. I got the robe and crow. Pretty sweet.

  25. flea Says:

I totally agree with Canuckistan and Jennifer on this one, Trent. And since you post your private life on your blog I feel it’s ok to comment on it. The thing is, I love your blog and have been reading it (and favouring it over other blogs *cough* perez *cough*) for over two years. But I’m increasingly disappointed. First you buy a gas guzzling SUV (you don’t have a large family that I know of that you need to accommodate) to drive around it, and proudly show it off on your blog (setting a REALLY bad example for your fellow environmentally ignorant countrymen), then you go all the way to Paris and visit Eurodisney?!?!?! You go to Disneyworld in California all the time! Sad, disappointing. I’m not so sure I like you anymore.

  26. Patty Says:

Sometimes it’s so interesting to go to another country and see their version of things with which we are familiar (like Disney). It’s a way to compare apples and apples, sometimes, and we don’t always have to stick to the “important” things. He would be reinforcing a stereotype if he were 375 pounds and throwing cigarette butts over the side of the boat, but enjoying a fun ride… eh, not such a crime.

And by the way, I MUST be pregnant because that video made me bawl! *rolling eyes*

  27. flea Says:

Disney is not something with which American’s are ‘familiar’, it’s something Americans created! So it’s not like being used to a ham and cheese sandwich, and then trying the French version. To me, it’s more like going to France and eating McDonalds (like Canuckistani rightly said).

  28. Jennie Says:

I loved Disneyland Paris…I went in November, on my backpacking through europe tour with some friends, I brought it up for a laugh but we had the best time – space mountain was so much better that the one in Florida too!!

We did do the cultural stuff in Paris too…but we felt this would be one of those things that was just fun and silly to do. Glad you had fun :)

  29. BeeShell Says:

Actually…it IS called Disneyland Paris because the whole EuroDisney thing wasn’t working. Anyways….

I love, love, LOVE! DisneyParis. Their ‘Haunted Mansion’ and ‘Pirates’ rides are so amazing! There is just something about that little park that is so endearing! It will always hold a place in my heart.

  30. Sarah Says:

    Woop!Woop! WHOA!?!

What’s with all the folks drinking HaterAde?! Trent can do as he pleases. This country’s basis of freedom was not meant to be used for hatred. If anything, it’s freedom to enjoy and do what you feel within the confines of common laws. To the people (sugar-coatedly) trashing Trent-…Really?! It’s a farking BLOG! If you don’t like the personal pics, then quickly scroll past. Sheesh!
