Nine Inch Nails Play Private Show In LA
Much to my chagrin, Nine Inch Nails played a secret, private show at the LA Forum last night as a live dress rehearsal for a few very lucky fans. A few weeks ago, NIN uploaded a Google Earth feature on their tour site showing the cities that their Lights in the Sky Tour would be visiting … and then a few days ago, question marks started showing up around the LA area. It turns out that those question marks led people to places that where distributing free tickets for last night’s private rehearsal show. So, while I was flying away from LA last night, NIN was rocking out the Forum for the lucky fans who I now hate with a passion. Okay, not really but I am extremely jealous:
So as not to spoil anything for any of y’all who don’t want to know anything about the upcoming Lights in the Sky Tour, I’m putting the rest of this post behind the cut. I am just dying. This is the coolest thing ever … I’m not at all surprised that Trent Reznor had this up his sleeve, I just wish I could’ve been a part of it. As disappointed as I am that I missed this secret show, I’m even more jazzed for the shows that I will deffo be seeing later on in this tour. I’ll be seeing NIN first in Toledo, OH at the end of next month and then I’ll be at the proper LA Forum show in early September — believe that. If any of ya’ll were there last night, let us know how amazing it was … let us live vicariously thru you.

I was one of the lucky ones! I got one of the envelopes from the treasure hunt and it really was the most incredible NIN show. The visuals for the show are stunning – best of any tour so far. It’s impossible to describe them all and do them justice, in fact none of the pics do it justice. Trent has put so much time into this – it’s more than just a concert, it’s a performance. People who have seats are not going to be disappointed! He’s playing lots from Year Zero and The Slip, and a few Ghosts (for which the setup is mind-boggling). It’s really just incredible and anyone who has a ticket is in store for one of the best NIN tours they’ve ever seen.
I’ve linked to my photos, I was up on the rail but had to sneak them with my phone. Like I said, they don’t do the setup justice – it’s SO much better than what you see in the pics! Hopefully they’ll post some official ones to better show it all.

i didn’t go. i thought about about jumping on a plane and finding a way in.
at least you had other plans. i thought maybe you were keeping it a secret since it was a *secret* show. from now on, i’m sending you *everything* even if i think you know already. :)

At least you could have been able to go to the show. I live in San Diego but I’ve been out in Utah with my family and it hurts me that I missed something so spectacular.
I can’t wait to see Nin September.

If you are going to Toledo why not hit D-town two days previous? There are still GA tickets available. Can’t wait for the show!!!
