So … I flew out of SoCal yesterday to make it here to NYC and what was supposed to be a 5 hour endeavor turned into a 10 hour nightmare. It should come as no surprise that I had to deal with delays yesterday … but I wasn’t prepared for those delays to double my travel time. Of course it wasn’t fun but I did make it to NY safe and sound. I spent much of my flight catching up with some old friends … Kath & Kim:
I’ve been a fan of Kath & Kim, the Australian series, for about a year now but haven’t really been able to watch all of the eps available here in the US. Darion hooked me up with the first 3 seasons and I watched the entire first season on my flight to NY last night. OMG, seriously, it’s the funniest show eva! I don’t know how the US version of Kath & Kim is going to be able to top it since the original is already brills. The US version of the show is already having a few probs, the first ep wasn’t received well and the show is already undergoing retooling. I’m deffo gonna give the US version a try but I’d be happy with just enjoying the Aussie version :)
On my flight, I also got more than halfway thru Twilight so I got a lot accomplished. Tonight, I have a fun little adventure planned for me and David … but we’re gonna keep things chill over the coming days until we leave for London on Wednesday night.

Trent, I cannot wait to hear your reactions to Twilight! I know you’re a former BTVSer like me, and hopefully you will love it as much as I did. In fact, there are many aspects of Twilight that I prefer over the Buffyverse, which I never thought I would say. Anyways, I hope you enjoy!

Twilight gets SUPER amazing toward the end. Make absolutely no plans, you won’t be able to put the book down!!!!

I agree that Kath and Kim is probably one of the best comedies out there. The American version will have A LOT to live up to!

I liked Twilight but didn’t love it- certainly not in the same way I love Buffy/Angel. However, Kath and Kim is one of the best shows ever!!!!!!!

Twilight is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good…. but Eclipse is better… New Moon is the worst of the three, but force your way thru it to get to the awesomeness that is Eclipse!

you have good timing for London Trent! Its been beautiful here the last few weeks, and by the end of this week its due to be around 30 degrees celcius (which is high 80s in Fahrenheit)
Not as hot as LA I am sure, but for England its fantastic!

Why doesn’t America just embrace the foreign version of a show instead of trying to recreate it? I don’t get it? The rest of the world is bombarded with American TV and we have adapted to the humour and those hideous reality shows! I just don’t think you can make an American version of Kath & Kim!!! The basis of Kath & Kim is unique Australian humour. Take that away and what do you have? Another – My Name is Earl?

I think it’s a shame the US makes their own version of everything, they are doing it with the masterpiece comedy that is Peep Show as well, which is a travesty because the original is superb.

I don’t think the american version will live up to our aussie one…its just a classic in its own right. let us know how you find twilight, its an amazing series.

It’s so great you’re finally reading Twilight! Soon (if you’re not already) you’ll be as obsessed about it like the rest of us :) You’ll def have to read the other books after though, it’s such a great series and i hope you’re enjoying it!
