It’s a great article! For once it’s really about the impact this show has had on MTV, the definition of “reality show” and how the life of these girls have changed as a result.
The cover was inspired by something that LC said during the interview, she said that sometimes she wakes up in the middle of the night and thinks that cameras are filming her… it’s a great picture!

I don’t get it. i just don’t get it. I have enough reality in my life that these rich girls from a really nice part of the country and their “problems” just don’t do it for me. I’ve tried to watch it, but it just makes me irritated and kind of stabby.

love LC… love the show. but my angle as always is WHY do people get so upset over people they dont even know! if you dont like them… dont watch MTV or whatever. They’re making a name for themself… and making a living. go LC… go Heidi (even tho im not a fan of her character). She works hard for the money and she does a great job doing it. my hats off to anyone who can do this.

Love the fact that even though you love the show, you can call out the absurdity of comparing it to Dickens or that it’s about “empowering” girls. Yuck. (I’m sure I’d get addicted if I watched it, but from an outsider’s pov, it looks pretty vomit-inducing.)

LC is the real star of that show. I am so happy that LO is back to clean house. Even thou I really like Audrina. She is just kind of weird looking, great body, but very strange eyes. I can’t wait for the new season to start! The show rocks…I just wish Spencer got beat up on an episode. That would rock.

I don’t pretend to hate The Hills. I actually hate it. And this kind of hatred isn’t born overnight. You must coax it with rusty forceps from a womb of malcontent. (thanks to Brett Butler for that visual). Can we please, apparently as a nation, move on from this sickening collection of stereotypical bimbos with their manufactured problems? When Heidi goes shopping and her credit card is declined, THAT might interest me. When Lauren has to trade in her whatever because she can no longer afford gas, call me. Talk about photoshopping the shit out of something…. They’ve managed to make her face slightly less irritating. Slightly = 1%. There are some ways to go. How about cutting her and her moron ‘castmates’ off the TV and such altogether… make her get a real job where she actually does something rather than pretending to be something she’s not.
