So, David and I were pretty much forced to stay home all day long yesterday since we didn’t want to miss the delivery of his lost bag AND they didn’t deliver the bag until, get this, 11pm last night! 24 hours after his flight arrived, his bags were finally delivered. If anything, this tells me that I never want to fly Delta — ever!
We did make the most of our time together tho … we talked, told a few jokes … you know, the usual. There may have been a few eps of the Golden Girls thrown in for good measure. We may have started season 5 of the series on DVD. To be honest, it was a nice day together … I live for the “boring” time we get to spend together.
That being said … I’m looking forward to leaving the house today … it’s time :)
I once waited 4 days to receive my lost luggage from Delta. Carrot top says Delta stands for “don’t expect luggage to arrive” so true!
Yikes! This has be a tad petrified. I’m flying Delta going to NYC on wednesday. Maybe I need to think about just taking a carry-on instead :-/
I once had a guy from some airline come to my door at 3AM to give me my lost luggage, only problem was it wasn’t for me, it was my neighbors. Stupid airline guy got the wrong house. No apologies about waking us up because he got the wrong house. I guess he was even ruder to my neighbor. Saying something like your lucky we even delivered your luggage to you.
Can I just say that I love your personal touches! It’s nice to hear the daily tidbits of your life. Makes you feel (to me) like more of a friend and less of a loudmouth gossip blogger. You talk about things the way I would talk about things. Still loves-s-s you after all this time!

i went on vacation a few weeks ago, and i flew delta and they lost our luggage as well!!!!! and we didn’t get it for about 2 days!
My family and I traveled to Vermont on vacay via Delta a few years ago and when we retuned to Denver Airport our luggage was not there and guess what…one of my suitcases was never retrieved. We ended up having to file a claim. Good thing I didn’t have anything of real importance in that suitcase! Delta is my least favorite…but then again….they all suck these days. One exception has got to be Midwest….can’t complain about fresh baked cookies in mid-flight. Love ya Trent……also a native of D-Town!!!!!
OMG I flew Delta two weeks ago to NYC from RDU and it was AWFUL! The service was horrendous, the desk agent literally YELLED at me when my bag was .5 lbs over the limit and was going to make me go repack and stand in line again when all I had to do was pull a book out of the outside pocket and carry it with me.
I’m taking JetBlue from here on out…
I fly Delta all the time and i have never had a problem. I don’t think it’s necessarily one airline in general because it happens on all airlines. If you think about the hundreds of bags that they transport everyday it’s surprising they don’t lose more luggage. I’m sure if you posted about another airline losing luggage you would have a bunch of reply posts to that too. Hey at least they don’t charge you $25 to check a damn bag…
The same thing happened to me on a Delta flight. I sent them a letter and they sent me a $100 voucher for my next flight.
DELTA IS THE WORST SHIT, I LOST MY BAGGAGE AND THEY DIDNT RETURN IT AFTER 4 DAYS, IM NOT FROM THE USA SO I HAD TO SPEND ALL THOSE DAYS IN A HOTEL IN MERCED, WHERE NOTHINGS IS GOING ON.
I had the exact same thing happen the first and only time I’ve flown Delta. Had I known that their delivery service would take almost 24 hours to give me my luggage, I would have simply gone to the airport myself. I should follow Andrew’s lead and get a voucher, not that I’d ever use it! I will never fly Delta again, the luggage problem was the final straw.

This is why I don’t take luggage on planes when I go hottest hot spots around the world. Since I’m a ultra sexy know around the world individual who’s muscles ripple in the sunlight and woman drop to their knees when meeting me, I know I can basically steal any two pieces of luggage off the belt where you pick up your luggage and walk out. No matter what the contents may be I can still wear them and look better than you. It solves a lot of potential luggage issues. Your welcome.
I just got back from Daytona Beach Fl and we flew Delta from Pittsburgh to Atlanta and then took a small connector to Daytona since it is a much smaller airport and our luggage did NOT take the trip with us. It got lost somewhere in ATL and finally made it to Daytona at midnight that night (8 hrs after we landed) and we had to persistently call (we kept getting people in other countries, nobody in Daytona) and the Delta rep was incredibly rude when she announced “thats all!!” after three pieces of luggage came off our connecting flight. I think Delta has an issue with lost bags or something but thankfully everything made it home on both flights!
Every airline loses bags. I went to Spain recently and they lost my bag and everyone in my party’s bag.
Delta lost my luggage… they sent it to Dallas/Ft. Worth when my final destination was San Antonio (???) I didn’t get my bags back until 24 hours later as well. They weren’t sure when it would be back so they made me come back the the airport 3 times before they just said… “We’ll send it to your hotel”.
Try waiting for 10 DAYS for your bags! I flew US Airways a few years ago when over a 100 of their employees went on strike. I finished my trip and returned home before I received a thing! I spent money to buy some things for my trip b/c I didn’t have ish. PLUS, there were 3 things STOLEN from my bag. I will NEVER fly with them again.
Delta is TERRIBLE. Can you say 6.5 hour delay for no good reason? Ugh! And then a 1.5 hour delay on the way back, and this time they didn’t even TELL us it was delayed… just kept saying we were about to board. I avoid Delta at all costs now.
