Condolences For Estelle Getty
EstelleGetty.com has reopened their guestbook so that fans and well-wishers are once again able to post their thoughts, feelings and condolences to the late Golden Girl Estelle Getty. The guestbook was taken offline at the time of her death last week but has since been reopened so that fans an post messages … here is the message that I posted last night:

Much love to Pink reader Kevin for giving me the head’s up about this … I am very happy to be able to post a message of remembrance and thanks for Estelle on her official website and I’m sure there are many folks out there who would like to do the same. Send your thoughts, send your thanks and, most of all, send your lurve.

did you have to use that opportunity to advertise your website? thats not very respectful in my opinion

Care, I hope it was more that whoever may be reading these at the site, can come here and read all the nice things Trent wrote about Estelle on his blog already.
Though, I agree that it could have come off as disrespectful…

Trent, soon you might consider creating a category entitled ‘Golden Girls’ for your readers to easily pull up all of these lovely posts about one of our favorite shows ever :) I think it’s wonderful that fans of the show can connect through each others comments here on pitnb.com

Uh…who exactly are these comments for? It’s a cinch that Estelle isn’t going to be reading them. Maybe, if they’d had been addressed to her children and family they would have made a bit more sense.
Are you trying to show how sensitive and caring you are by, linking all of this to your blog? It reeks of self-promotion.

Come on guys, stop hating on Trent! I think it’s a wonderful show of support to write on Estelle’s page, and he simply included the url of his blog. It would have been totally different had he written, “love you Estelle, everyone should read my blog!” Keep up the awesome work Trent, and hope you are enjoying your vacay! BTW, I love hearing about your fabulous life, it makes you more real and awesome than any other blogger out there.

I have to agree…promoting the blog while leaving condolences is super tacky.
I’m disappointed Trent, I thought you had class.

simmer down rice-a-ronis! is it really that big of a deal that he has the blog name listed?
the point is that he sent estelle his luv and linked to her page so you could do the same. of course estelle isn’t going to read them. what we do after someone dies is for us anyway, not for the person we lost. the guest book is a way for us all to share our saddness together.

If you seriously think I was trying to promote my blog to well-wishers of Estelle Getty then you are sorely mistaken. It’s amazing how much people want to see the worst in so many things.

Totally agree Trent! enjoy your vacay!
