Chick-Fil-A + ‘Rock Band’ = Best.Birthday.Ever.
The TV Guide

So, yesterday was my birthday and I really wanted to keep the day as low-key as possible, spending it with some friends and some food. After I discovered a few months ago that I was within driving distance of a Chick-Fil-A restaurant in Redondo Beach, CA I’ve made it a habit of gettin’ down there for eats as much as I can. The very kind owners of the Chick-Fil-A inside the South Bay Galleria Mall in Redondo contacted me with an extremely generous offer to host a party for me and my friends … I figured my birthday would be the best time to have such a party so that’s what we did. I hadn’t anticipated that Bob and Michelle Sun, the restaurant owners, would go all out for me and my friends … they really gave me a superfun and very delicious birthday party. Here are a few pics from yesterday’s fun:

Yes, that is the official Chick-Fil-A cow mascot at my party with me and my friends. I cannot express enough gratitude for Bob and Michelle‘s kind generosity. My friends and I were treated with all the Chick-Fil-A we could eat and then some … I really felt like I was on top of the world. I have to send out much, much love to the Suns for taking such amazing care of me and my friends. Much love also goes out to Darion, Mike, Jill, Paul, Corey, Jim, Derek, Jordan (and his friends Mike and Aaron) and of course David for coming out to my dinner party :)

After the jump, check out a bunch more pics from the second part of last night’s fun — our Rock Band party at Darion’s apartment …

Here are a few pics from my Rock Band party … Kirsten and Josh were able to join us for this portion of the night’s fun. We named our band Hawt Kawk and named the band members Rayge (the emaciated emo lead signer), Playgue (the punky lead guitarist), Jayde (the metalhead bassist) and Layne (the burly Berliner drummer):

The highlight of the game was finally winning our Deluxuliner tour bus but after the 15th time playing Say It Ain’t So by Weezer, we ditched the tour and just had mindless fun for the rest of the night. Much, much love goes out to Darion for hosting the party — he decked out his apartment and provided food and drink for all of us — he’s the best :) Love to Mike and Jill for the amazing Birthday Cookie, too :) All my friends rule, I love them all dearly. They showered me with very generous and thoughtful gifts … I just love them very very much :)

This afternoon, David has a birthday surprise for me … I dunno what it is yet but we have to leave soon … I’ll be posting more blog stuff later on tonight after we get back from wherever we have to be :)

Lastly, thank you all for the kind birthday wishes that y’all have been posting in the comments or emailing my way. Much love to you all for the very kind words :) xoxoxoxox

Happiest of birthdays, Trent. I love me some Chick-fil-a too!

  2. I hope you enjoyed your birthday party, Trent!

Sorry that I have to inform you of this – I liked Chick-Fil-A too – but their’s still a standing gay boycott against the franchise. They are owned and operated by fundamentalist Christian that give to a butt-load of anti-gay charities. That’s also the reason that none of their restaurants can be open on Sunday.

Happy belated birthday! I love me some Chick-Fil-A but we don’t have one in Vegas. I worked at one back home (in Georgia) for like a year and a half. Don’t miss the job but I miss their food SO much!

I feel your pain Trent. As a Canadian, I only gets some of the goods when I’m down at my dads in North Carolina. Hello waffle fries…will you marry me?

Happy Birthday Trent! I love what you did on your birthday – food, friends & fun! That’s exactly how I always spend mine, too (and usually with some family thrown in for good measure!)

Ain’t no Chick-Fil-A here in Vancouver, but I hafta say I’m VERY curious about this joint now that I’ve read this post…

P.S. Is it just me or is Darion revealing himself to be a deliciously fun guy in almost every pic I see of him?

  15. Elizabeth says:

Chic Fil A rocks my world, and to find out that you feel the same way?

    Well, well.

I just wish they had In and Out in Florida.

Do you think you could use your grand influence to make that happen? Seriously, I miss the Real Burger soooo much.

Chic Fil A’s where we go for the chicks, but sometimes we have to have cow.

    Happy Birthday, T!

  16. Elizabeth says:

    Oh listen to the haters…

“that’s the reason that the restaurants can’t be open on Sundays? Because they’re owned by fundamentalist Christian gay haters?”

    Get your facts straight.

I’m a born again Christian, and I don’t hate gays, and neither do any other Christians that I know.

    We love everyone.

    However, I hate ignorance.

  17. Jenna says:

Hope you had a great bday! Wanted to let you know that what another poster wrote is indeed true … ChickFilA as a corporation is AWFUL — they give tons of money to bigoted and misogynist causes in the name of “christianity”. I feel your pain, man, but I hope you’ll start to boycott them. I encourage you to check out their financials and post that info on your site — you have a huge audience and maybe you and your $$$ could persuade them to be better people.

  18. A says:

You had a FANTASTIC birthday! Woo woo!!!

  19. TJ says:

Happy Birthday, but you should not be promoting that company. What’s next? A Cracker Barrel sponsored party?

  20. Chris R says:

Many best birthday wishes and many many more….
