Hugh Jackman And His Little Squirts

Cute overload
Monday, July 21st, 2008

Here are a few adorable pics of Hugh Jackman playing around with his children Oscar and Ava Jackman in Sydney, Australia over the weekend. I’m totally dying at the cuteness here:

Being Hugh Jackman’s kid looks like a helluva lotta fun. Not only would your dad look like a life-size action figure (hot!) but he’d also be involved enough to take time out of his insanely bizzy schedule to play with you. Hugh Jackman has to be one of the coolest and most dedicated dads in Hollywood. It’s impressive. Now … if only he’d take the kids back to the beach so that he can get wet and half-nekkid, I’d be even more impressed ;)

Victoria Beckham Goes Mostly Nekkid

... well, kinda
Monday, July 21st, 2008

Now, I’m not sure what in the world was going on with Vicki B. when she decided to go out in public lookin’ fresh and natural but … I must admit that I really like it. Not only did VB opt out of wearing make-up (the horror!) but she also decided to wear cut-off jean shorts and flip flops! I mean, seriously!

Victoria Beckham took herself off glamour duty during a family day at a Los Angeles hotel over the weekend, reclining poolside without her heels – or make-up. The former Spice Girl, who is rarely seen in public without a full face of foundation, let her guard down while relaxing with her mother Jackie and son Romeo … her au naturel look, complete with pinned back hair, revealed her problem skin, which revealed … she has to work hard to look red carpet-ready. She told Allure magazine: “As you can see, I’m a normal-looking girl, and I just make the best of what I have. I’m not out-of-the-ordinary-looking at all – I’m incredibly ordinary.” And without a hint of irony, she also claimed she doesn’t like being the centre of attention and that in fact, she’s actually uncomfortable in the spotlight. She insisted: “I’m not the kind of person that stands there and loves the attention. It might look that way, but it makes me very, very nervous.”

Hands down, this is the best I’ve ever seen Mrs. Victoria Beckham. She may look fierce and fabulous from time to time but this stripped bare look is so much more appealing. Hello, she looks human rather than robotic. I would love to see more of this kind of Vicki B. rather than the overly made-up, plastic-looking one we see all the time. There is something to be said for natural beauty … I’m glad that VB is finally comfortable enough to show us hers.

The jean shorts and flip-flops, tho? I’m still having a hard time processing. Wow.

David Beckham ‘Ties’ One On

LA Galaxy 2 - NY Red Bulls 2
Monday, July 21st, 2008

David Beckham and the LA Galaxy battled the NY Red Bulls at Giants Stadium this past Saturday and altho the match ended in a 2-2 draw, Becks did everything humanly possible to make sure that a great and entertaining time was had by all. Here are a few pics of Becks warming up and in action on Saturday afternoon:

Los Angeles Galaxy captain David Beckham was pleased with the resolve his Major League Soccer side showed in battling back to a 2-2 draw against the New York Red Bulls Saturday. Landon Donovan salvaged a point for the Galaxy at Giants Stadium, his cross in injury time floating over the heads of numerous players, including Galaxy teammate Edson Buddle’s, and into the far corner of the goal … Until then the Red Bulls appeared poised to steal the show from superstar Beckham and the Galaxy. The hosts had taken a 2-1 lead on a superb second-half goal from captain Juan Pablo Angel gave the home side a 2-1 lead. Beckham was pleased his team fought until the end, and were rewarded with the draw. “There were chances for both teams but we showed a lot of character,” Beckham said. “We were disappointed to go in 1-1 at halftime because they scored through our sloppy play. Then we came out second half, they got a goal but we kept on battling and we didn’t look as if we were going to get a goal but we did in the end. It showed the character in the team, especially when we’re not playing as well as we can, to come back. So overall, maybe a draw was fair tonight.” The match drew a MLS season-high 46,754 fans.

I love how soccer is one of the only major league sports where a tie is not only possible but can also be celebrated. It’s a nice thing when everyone is a winner! But, you know what else can be celebrated? The after-game entertainment. After the jump, check out a few fun pics of a shirtless David Beckham as he walked off the field at the game’s completion …

Speidi Shoot Down Rumors

Claim they don't <3 guns but they do <3 McCain
Monday, July 21st, 2008

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt sat down with Extra TV to explain those photos that came out recently that showed the couple armed with guns at a shooting range. Additionally, the couple talk about Heidi’s clothing line Heidiwood and their involvement with the McCain family. It’s all you’ve ever wanted to know about Speidi (or, mebbe not) in one fell swoop:

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt on “Extra” reacting to controversy over a recent photo featuring the duo on a gun range. Pratt comments, “We went once, it’s not like we’re rolling around with guns … guns are not a toy. We don’t promote guns.” He continues, “We were under supervision of three trained professionals.” Montag, whose stepbrother was killed in the Iraq War, is planning a trip to perform for American troops stationed in the Middle East. She says, “My brother was an airborne ranger in Afghanistan and Iraq. It’s very important to me and important to Spencer to support the troops and go over there.” Montag reveals details about her budding friendship with presidential hopeful Senator John McCain’s daughter, Meghan, commenting, “She’s very sweet. We have a lot in common.” Pratt adds, “I think Meghan McCain is helping organize Heidi and our Iraq trip. Her dad definitely has some pull with the military. I think she’s going to put that together for us.” The reality television couple viewers love to hate spill details about their upcoming videogame, Pratt says, “We’re eventually going to have our videogame that UBI-Soft is going to design for us sold at Kitson … it’s top secret … get ready. All your wildest dreams are going to be in it.” Asked about her clothing line, Heidiwood, Montag declares, “It’s selling really well. It’s one of the #1 selling celebrity clothing lines.” Montag and Pratt are one of Hollywood’s only couples who admit they “love the paparazzi.” Pratt declares, “You know it’s a business, they are helping promote us … they are hard working.” Montag adds, “Everyone always complains about them. At the end of the day, why are you in the entertainment business if you don’t embrace that part of it?” Asked about rumors the couple plans to wed on the Season 4 finale of The Hills, Pratt jokes, “We’re not planning on having LC narrate our wedding.” In response to whether fellow Hills stars, Lauren and Audrina, are friends this week, Montag laughs, “I don’t really know … what are their names?”

Love them or hate them — Heidi and Spencer really know how to make a splash and make the most out of every opportunity available to them. They’re 100% right about having to deal with the paparazzi … of course it’s a business and, I totally agree, if you don’t like the attention from the photogs then you prolly shouldn’t be in the Entertainment field. While I don’t agree with their political associations, I do find them extremely entertaining. They push so many buttons … people get so riled up by the mere mention of their names — clearly, they are doing something right. I’m looking forward to this trip to Iraq that they mention … I can’t wait to see the pics that will follow. The video game and Christian album, I think I’ll pass on … but that’s the good thing about Speidi — if you don’t like one thing they’re associated with, wait for about 10 mins. and something else will come along.

Laura Bell Bundy Is ‘Blonde’ No Longer

The 'Legally Blonde' star ends her 4-year involvement with the show
Monday, July 21st, 2008

Laura Bell Bundy, star of Legally Blonde The Musical, brought the curtain down on her tenure as Elle Woods on Broadway. Last night was LBB’s final show as Elle, ahead of tonight’s announcement regarding her replacement. As you know, MTV has been airing The Seach for Elle Woods for the past few weeks and tonight we find out who wins the role of Elle Woods on Broadway (will it be Autumn, Bailey or Rhiannon?) … but first, the show has to say goodbye to Laura Bell — Broadway’s original Elle Woods, who will always remain irreplaceable to me:

Tony-nominated actress Laura Bell Bundy will “bend and snap” one final time as Elle Woods in the Broadway production of Legally Blonde July 20. Bundy has been with Legally Blonde since its 2005 readings and earned a 2007 Best Actress Tony Award nomination for her turn as Legally Blonde’s pink-clad heroine. The musical is based on the 2001 MGM movie that starred Reese Witherspoon. Triple-threat Bundy made her Broadway debut in the 2002 original cast of Hairspray as Amber Von Tussle and is known for her turns in Wicked and Ruthless!, for which she earned Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk nominations as Tina Denmark. On screen Bundy has been seen in “Dreamgirls,” “Guiding Light,” “Jumanji,” “Life with Mikey,” “Adventures of Huck Finn,” “Home Improvement,” “Strangers with Candy” and “Curtis Court.” Bundy released her solo country debut recording “Longing for a Place Already Gone” last year. Representatives for the Tony-nominated actress state that Bundy is currently developing a television project and is at work on her next album. Bundy’s replacement will be named on the July 21 episode of the MTV reality competition “Legally Blonde The Musical: The Search for Elle Woods.” On July 23 at 8 PM, the next Elle Woods – who will be determined by a panel of Legally Blonde casting directors, production associates and director/choreography Jerry Mitchell – will take over in the lead role at the Palace Theatre on Broadway.

I imagine last night’s performance was a fun, yet difficult one for Laura Bell … it must be hard to exit a role that you originate on Broadway. I’ve been fortunate enough to see LBB as Elle in the show a couple of times and I know that the new girl has got some big shoes to fill. I am very much looking forward to hearing about LB’s next project — but I hope she takes some time off to relax for a minute before plunging headlong into another big commitment. I wish nothing but the best for her and I’m sending her much congrats and all my love today.

Look At Moy, Look At Moy, Look At Moy

The TV Guide
Monday, July 21st, 2008

So … I flew out of SoCal yesterday to make it here to NYC and what was supposed to be a 5 hour endeavor turned into a 10 hour nightmare. It should come as no surprise that I had to deal with delays yesterday … but I wasn’t prepared for those delays to double my travel time. Of course it wasn’t fun but I did make it to NY safe and sound. I spent much of my flight catching up with some old friends … Kath & Kim:

I’ve been a fan of Kath & Kim, the Australian series, for about a year now but haven’t really been able to watch all of the eps available here in the US. Darion hooked me up with the first 3 seasons and I watched the entire first season on my flight to NY last night. OMG, seriously, it’s the funniest show eva! I don’t know how the US version of Kath & Kim is going to be able to top it since the original is already brills. The US version of the show is already having a few probs, the first ep wasn’t received well and the show is already undergoing retooling. I’m deffo gonna give the US version a try but I’d be happy with just enjoying the Aussie version :)

On my flight, I also got more than halfway thru Twilight so I got a lot accomplished. Tonight, I have a fun little adventure planned for me and David … but we’re gonna keep things chill over the coming days until we leave for London on Wednesday night.
