A Peek Into Maddie Briann’s Future

It all makes sense now
Thursday, July 10th, 2008

Pink reader Diana sent in a brills explanation for the OK! magazine photo of Maddie Briann Spears Aldridge that I posted in the previous post … it appears that Maddie’s expression in the pic might be a foreshadowing of the little girl’s future:

She may very well have a long career as a Hollywood “It” Girl yet!

Is Everything ‘OK’, Casey-Lynn?

Ummm ...
Thursday, July 10th, 2008

The new issue of OK! magazine, which features Jamie Lynn Spears’s newborn baby girl Maddie Briann, is already showing up on newsstands around the country … and here is one of the pics from this latest must own issue which features mother, daughter and father Casey Aldridge:

I, uh, don’t even know exactly what to say … the photo isn’t the best photo of a celebrity baby that I’ve ever seen but Casey-Lynn sure do look happy. I’m absolutely at a loss for the right words to express my feelings. If any of y’all have anything inspiring to comment about this pic, I’d be happy to read them. Make sure you pick up this issue of OK! magazine (on newsstands now) to check out the full set of Maddie Briann Spears-Aldridge photos!

Who Lost His Shirt?

What's Happening?
Thursday, July 10th, 2008

Can you guess which rapper turned actor was snapped riding around on his dirt-bike sans helmet, sans protective clothing … sans shirt!

You may or may not have been one of the 5s of 10s of people who ponied up to see this actor’s latest movie in theaters (which, for all intents and purposes, bombed at the box office … which is okay, since his beloved Boston Celtics won the 2008 NBA Finals Championship this year) so you might not recognize him right off the bat. After the jump, find out who it is …

Jennifer Hudson’s Album Artwork Revealed

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

Here is our first look at the album artwork for Jennifer Hudson’s long-awaited self-titled debut album which is due to hit stores on September 30:

I suppose it’s nice enough … but perhaps a touch too simple? I dunno, just like I expected a bit more from J. Hud’s appearance in the Sex and the City Movie (not that she wasn’t great, I just kinda wanted more) I guess I was expecting — well, more. In any event, the cover artwork isn’t all that important. I love her new single Spotlight and I’m very anxious to hear the rest of her stuff. I’m really looking forward to 09/30 now :)

Oh, The ‘Humanity’

30 Seconds to save the world
Thursday, July 10th, 2008

It’s not only royal brothers who have the philanthropic spirit to help their fellow man but also electro/emo rocker brothers as well. Here are a few pics of Jared and Shannon Leto, of the band 30 Seconds to Mars, lending a helping hand to the folks at Habitat for Humanity a couple of weeks ago:

Fans of 30STM participated in an auction to win the rights to work alongside the band on this project and managed to raise $10,000 for Habitat for Humanity. I don’t always agree with everything that Jared Leto says about certain things, nor am I a huge fan of his music but I am a fan of his movies and I really respect that he and his bandmates choose to take the time to help out with charitable organizations like this. It says a lot about a person who gives so willing of their time in order to help positively affect the lives of others. Click HERE for more information on the efforts made by 30STM to help build homes for people. It’s deffo worth your time to check out the link.

Hurricane Disaster Relief: Prince Willy Style

Be Prepared!
Thursday, July 10th, 2008

Earlier this week we saw photos of Prince Harry’s trip to the South African kingdom of Lesotho where he and his Household Cavalry regiment have relocated in order to give aid to the rebuilding effort there … and today we have pics of Prince William taking part in a hurricane disaster relief exercise in the Caribbean. It’s not nearly as dirty nor does it seem to involve as much manual labor as Harry’s efforts in South Africa but at least Wills is doing his part to help save the world:

Prince William has taken part in a hurricane disaster exercise in the Caribbean, the Ministry of Defence said on Thursday. The Prince flew ashore by helicopter from the frigate HMS Iron Duke to Montserrat on Monday as the volcanic island tested the readiness of its emergency services should it be struck by a category five storm. “Sub-Lieutenant Wales has been involved in the planning from the outset, and that’s primarily in developing a plan and understanding of the nature of the infrastructure on Montserrat,” said HMS Iron Duke captain Commander Mark Newland. “What I’ve seen is his ability to integrate very quickly into teams, whether it be at the command level or the very low tactical level.” William is on a two-month attachment with the Royal Navy until August 1.

Yeah, nowhere near as sexy as Prince Harry’s efforts but still, Wills is taking part in something. I’m not really feeling this little uni he’s got goin’ on … it looks too clean, too untouched. I like that Harry has no problem getting all dirtyWills could use a little grit and grime to hawtten him up a bit, no?

Going For The ‘Golden’

The TV Guide
Thursday, July 10th, 2008

So, yesterday afternoon I got so wrapped up in frantic last-minute cleaning around my apartment (to prepare for David’s arrival) that I missed an appointment and basically didn’t leave my apartment until well after dark. I had to do a quick run to Target to load up on supplies and then get my butt to LAX to pick up David. He arrived safe and sound but had a little problem with his luggage … which we’re still waiting for to arrive.

Absent that, tho, I was productive in another respect … I’ve been watching the Golden Girls DVDs for the past few days and have already blown thru seasons 1-3 and just began season 4 before David arrived last night:

Fortunately for me, David is also a fan of the GGs so I don’t have to fear his breaking up with me ;) As I mentioned before, I’ve never seen the eps in full, in order on DVD before and it really has been an enlightening experience. The one important thing that I learned is that all those “clip shows” that that aired thruout the years weren’t really clip shows in the traditional sense (ie. an ep full of previously seen clips). The majority of these Golden Girls “clip shows” were made up of clips or “flashbacks” that were original scenes shot specifically for those eps and not just recycled clips. Remember that scene where Dorothy, Blanche and Rose competed against one another in that dance marathon (the one where Rose does crazy acrobatics to show up the other girls)? It was filmed specifically for a season three clip show titled One For the Money and never aired in a “regular” episode. I had always believed it was an ep that previously aired before. The series aired a couple of “traditional” clip shows (like the one where President Bush comes to visit) but most of them were all made up of original clips. Anyways … I’m gonna stop writing about this now cuz it’s starting to sound a bit wacky … but I’ll be expounding further on all things Golden Girls when I work up my The Best of The Golden Girls post after I finish all the seasons on DVD.

I promise I’m not crazy.

Hopefully David’s bags will arrive soon so we can leave the house at some point … otherwise we might be staying in … considering that David has no clothes to wear, that might not be a bad idea ;)
