The Graziano Family Strikes Back

Won't let the Hogans play the victim
June 17th, 2008

The Graziano family has hit back after a not-so-subtle attack on them was unleashed on the Florida radio airwaves last week by the Hogan family. A Tampa area “shock jock” radio DJ by the name of Bubba the Love Sponge Clem (who, incidentally, is a friend of the Hogan family) aired a recorded voicemail message from a man (identified as a “family member” of John Graziano, the 23-year old military vet who was left in a vegetative state as a result of a car accident caused by Nick Hogan last year) who insulted and threatened the Hogans … elevating the war between the families. In retaliation, the Grazianos shared a video tape with Nancy Grace, of CNN, showing the world just what life is like for the hospitalized John Graziano:

Now, regardless of whether the Graziano family did the right thing by releasing this tape or not, the public gets a better understanding of the disparity between the suffering families. We keep hearing how Nick Hogan is suffering in jail as he pays for his crime and now we see the suffering that John Graziano (and his whole family) is dealing with. The video is heartbreaking, so be warned if you decide to watch. I don’t necessarily agree with the family’s decision to release this footage but I absolutely understand the point they are trying to make. For any of the Hogans to have the nerve to contend they are suffering is ridiculous … compared to what the Grazianos are dealing with, I just hope the Hogans never utter another word about their pain ever again.

OMG! I watched this video today and it was heartbreaking!!! The Hogans should be ashamed of their behavior and Nick should just suck it up and deal with the consequences of his actions.

  2. db74 Says:

All the Nick bullshit aside (He should shut the “F” up and do the pussy ass sentence he got). I would not want to live my life like that. What is the point of being alive? To be a huge burden to my family? No Thanks! It is not natural to live like this. If he can’t live with the assistance of machines then let him go. I’m going to write a living will right now.

  3. Faith Says:

This makes me so sick. The entire Hogan family disgust me. Nick needs to grow up and stop being a spoiled pampered little brat.

  4. mike Says:

thats sad. poor guy. And what is up with nicks mom dating that 19 year old when she is 49!? ew! that family is fucked up

  5. PrincessEV Says:

The Graziano family totally needed to show this. If you’re whining about being in jail and your “best friend” is in that condition, you should be freaking grateful not wanting a real-ality show. I swear if a show comes out of this for the Hogans, I’m going to lead a boycott against it.

  6. Frederikke Says:

I feel sorry for the Gaziano family, that they felt they had to show this footage, but the Hogans need to grow a pair. Seems like the former Mrs. Hogan still carry all the “family-jewels” in her purse. It reminds of of the Hilton family’s outrage over Paris’ jail-sentence… I’m guess when you live for so long in a “fake” world like the Hogans, reality must seem pretty unreal. Life is an event of actions – every action has a reaction. Sometime even rich kids have to PAY the consequences. The Hogan’s should be ashamed. Peace & Karma!

  7. Mr. Gyllenhaal Says:

The whole Hogan family is disgusting!! All of them. I really hope they all get what is coming to them because what they are going through now is nothing!!

  8. Kittitude Says:

i really can’t blame the family of the victim. they’ve been very quiet for a very long time and the hogans have been just… out there. the hogans have nothing but thanks to give for their situation and should be extremely ashamed of themselves for their “poor me” attitude. they should thank the heavens that their son is healthy and whole.

  9. kittycatastrophe Says:

I guess they felt they had no other recourse. Having volunteered in a rehabilitation facility I know how heartbreaking it can be to have a family member in such a condition and for the Hogan family to work the media in order to spin public opinion to their favor is disgusting.

  10. la Says:

I feel sorry for John and the entire Graziano family but this is not something that should have ever been made public.

  11. Sally luvs Anthony Says:

Let’s put blame where blame falls… a 23 year old man was intoxicated driving without a seatbelt on with a 17 year old … Who do you think bought the booze? Florida law states you must be wearing a seat belt. He is an adult he made a dumb decision… So did Nick he is now paying for his faults in jail. I don’t mean to sound like a bitch but he knew his friend was drunk and he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.
Plain and simple if they weren’t the Hogan’s no one would care.

  12. Georgina Says:

Nick Hogan made a bad decision and should go to jail for it…infact i think he should stay there for the rest of his life to make sure he doesnt hurt someone else…i noe john is not all innocent in this cuz he should have worn a seat belt…but for the Hogans to be all “oh feel sorry for us” is just unacceptable…like screw you…an entire family is suffering for the rest of their life because of ur dumb ass son’s action…and nick goes to jail and ur complaining…

  13. Kelly Says:

I can see both sides of the issue. I’m a mother and if John was my son, I would be furious and want Nick to spend the rest of his life in prison. BUT…if I’m Nick’s mother, I would try to protect him as well.

These kids were friends. They made a stupid mistake. Neither is innocent. But to release this tape is disgusting to me. We all know what condition he is in. Just my 2 cents.

  14. Oscar Says:

Nick Hogan should have gotten 15 years to life.John got a life sentence. The guilt here is Nick’s.Why didn’t he insisted his friend wear the seatbelt if he was such a good friend?.Spoiled brat that thinks he is the center of the universe, that’s why.John when to Iraq TWICE.He was entitled to have a few.He wasn’t driving. He trusted his friend to drive with care and he was double crossed by him (Nick). The spoiled brat got it super easy so the Hogan family should shut up and the law should take the driving license from Nick forever.Shame on all the Hogan family and my curse goes to them, my heart to the Graziano family.

  15. CtownLady Says:

A girl in my town went through the same thing, kind of. She and her friends were drinking, got in a car and let the guy who was the most drunk, drive. One kid died, another was in a coma for months and now can not see. Sure the kid surved his 2 yrs in a juvenile facility… but that will not ease the hurt of the girl who lost her eyesight, or the family of the boy who died. Whether they all knew what they were doing or not… it is still rediculous. What Nick did was rediculous and he needs to stfu and deal with it. Maybe remember how lucky he is to have his life! Little a-hole!

  16. Amanda Says:

Ya know, it is absolutly amazing to me the world that the Hogan family lives in. How can they for one second think they are suffering anymore then this Marine’s family? Thank God the Hogan family has done their own damage on this one. I dont think we are ever going to look at the them the same. I am so tired of them anyhow. Perhaps they could just disappear from this country… any takers???

  17. girltarist Says:

if nick was really john’s friend, he’d take his sentence, and tell his family to stop making it harder for the grazianos to deal with their pain.

  18. E Says:

As a nurse who takes care of patients like this boy every single day, I am glad the family released this footage. I wish Nick Hogan’s punishment was to work in a hospital or nursing facility with these types of patients. He would learn his lesson in a week. I hope this convinces everyone to make out a living will….at least make sure your loved ones understand your wishes.

  19. LadyVA Says:

I’m sorry that this man is in a vegatative state and I do feel for his family but let’s just get real for a second. This man was riding around intoxicated with an intoxicated teenager. I mean, really. Who do you think bought the booze? Certianly not the teenager. I get so sick of the survivor being made out to be the villan when everyone involved was just as wrong. You shouldn’t drink and drive or ride with someone that’s been drinking, it’s that simple. If you make stupid decisions (and I don’t care if you’re a Marine or not) then whatever happens just happens. I was taught that bad choices have consequences so I have always avoided them. Perhaps if the Grazainos had raised their child, he would have known better than to supply a teenager with alcohol and then let him drive. Of course, as a grown-a** man, he should have known better anyway. They are both victims of their own stupidity and piss poor decision making. Both families need to sit down and shut up. They didn’t raise their sons and this is the result. What happened is sad and unfortunate but there are no innocent victims here.

  20. Green Is Good Says:

Holy sh*t. That video is hardcore.

  21. yourmom Says:

    Sally luvs Anthony,
Hulk Hogan bought the booze, and partied with the boys on his boat, and then let them drive away.

  22. Andrea Says:

I think its important that people see video like this. Forget for a minute that this is about a celebrity family war….. its the harsh reality of drunk driving. Its so sad to see someone having to live the rest of there lives like that. I hope everyone sees this and never in there lives consider driving while drunk or getting in a car with a drunk driver.

  23. sarahliciousisdelicious Says:

It seems like both of these families are capitalizing off of their sons. I agree with so many of the comments that people have posted. People make bad choices and they have to live with them. Fine. With that being said, that Hogan kid should take his sentence like a man and just be thankful that he gets to walk out of there when its all said and done.

  24. sarah Says:

under normal circumstances i’d think releasing this tape would be a really bad decision and a gross misuse of the media. BUT if the person responsible for one of my family member’s paralysis was public complaining about his “suffering” in jail, i’d do the same thing the graziano’s have done. if nick and the hogan’s think they’re suffering, this video shows them in a completely unapologetic manner how they really have no idea what true suffering is.
