Voting for someone because they would be the first president of color is just as ignorant as voting for someone because you don’t want a president of color.

It’s about qualifications and the ability to do the right job. And Obama has no clue what he is gonna get himself into.

I am *SO* glad at least someone understood that I was not directing my you’re/your comment to Marjorie. But, I do apologize to her for making her jump to her defenses and be butt hurt over the internet, that’s never very fun. Yes, I did assume that The Punisher was an adult, that’s almost as silly as Marjorie assuming I went/go to a community college. University of Michigan, anyone? Now to the matter at hand here. Whoever it was that said Trent and the rest of Hollywood should butt out of politics is an idiot. Everyone should have a say in politics, a say in our country. Opinions are like ass holes, everyone has one. So why not share it? It really ticks me off that some people think just people someone doesn’t have a higher education, or they live a different lifestyle that their opinion shouldn’t matter. That’s cheap bull crap, and you all know it.

I am a conservative little FK. I choose which candidate has a more conservative viewpoint rather than looking at the little R or D that follows their name. And I read all sorts of news and articles from all sides of the political scene. I am constantly reading news from diff. media outlets to find the truth. I HAD to check out the comments on here to see if you’d get overwhelmed by people who track any story that mentions a political candidate and then lose their shit about it…. Actually not as bad as I thought! Keep preachin’ it, Trent. If anyone’s offended, there are a lot of other gossip sites they can look at. Yours is fun because you share your own life and feelings as well as gossip, and you always seem to want the best for people instead of just trying to tear people down. Go Trent, go. Also, I just have to respond to Megan regarding the constitution/bill of rights. If you honor them as you say you do, as I do too, I don’t see how you could possibly be supporting the Republicans. There is more to the Bill of Rights than the 2nd amendment. Warrantless wire-tapping, suspension of Habeus Corpus, the stated goal of consolidating power in the Executive Branch (Cheney talked about this in an interview early in the first term)? Right now, “change” means going back to following the constitution. I suggest you take your own advice and read a book or two by someone who’s not featured on Fox News on a regular basis. You don’t have to agree with everything, but just to check it out.

Trent needs to lay off on politics just like the rest of Hollywood. I do not care who you are supporting so I do not wish to read your opinions on a CELEBRITY GOSSIP SITE. Stick to gossip. People (trent included) keep pushing out ridiculous stereotypes about conservatives yet they freak out when stereotypes about liberals are discussed (ie lazy welfare, minority, homosexual, etc). GO MARJORIE! Obama has little experience, you don’t let 5yr olds go to college do you?? He is racist himself as shown by his close spiritual advisor and FRIEND rev. wright. Another close friend of his has well known terrorist history and ties. He keeps spouting out we need change but fails to give a plan of how he would go about ‘changing’ America. AMERICA DOES NOT NEED TO BE CHANGED. America is a great country and our founding fathers set up a system (constitution/bill of rights) that was so well thought out and amazing it created a country that flourished beyond anyone’s expectations. and the morons who keep talking about REPUBLICANS creating high gas prices need to keep up on Obama and liberals…they are HAPPY because they believe and want the gas prices to FORCE you to drive less in order to stop the HOAX that is global warming. I can’t believe I’m stepping in to help out with reading comprehension, but here I go!

Faith specifically mentioned Marjorie in her first comment, but in her second comment about your/you’re she did not say anything about Marjorie. Marjorie got defensive and self-important as is natural on the internet. (Hint, if you didn’t make a grammar error why assume you’re the one being talking about?). Faith specifically said “It’s YOU’RE right” which I assume was in reference to the Punisher’s comment that said, “Your right i will vote McCain…”

So in summary:

1) Faith thinks Majorie is ignorant for reasons unrelated to Marjorie’s grammar and spelling.

2) kali perpetuated the grammar/spelling confusion needlessly, but other than that maintains the position that Trent can say what he wants on his own blog leaving people the choice to read it as they see fit.

Why would the country not be ready? It’s not like there’s a prep course that we should be taking or some sort of training regimen. Of course there are those that have prejudices against various minorities, just as there are those that have prejudices against people who are old. Some people hate Republicans. Some people hate religious fundamentalists. Some hate atheists. I’ve never been ready for a president like Bush but I’ve been stuck with him for 8 years. The people who aren’t “ready for a black president” would be voting for McCain anyway (if at all), so it’s really irrelevant.

Ugh enough with the Hollywood references already. It’s not like 1. celebrities are the only ones voting for him; 2. celebrities don’t have the same rights as non-celebrities; 3. celebrities are uninformed. Hearing talk of hollywood just sounds like the headlines pulled from the talking bobbleheads on tv.

Haven’t we had enough of letting other people dictate whom we elect? Vote for whoever you think will do the best job and don’t worry about how others will respond, including racists and terrorists. We’re never going to improve as a country if we’re always paranoid about taking any chances.

Dividing, Egotistic, Misleading, Obnoxious, Cocky, Rude, Arrogant, and Tricking that is how one can define a democrat. This country does need change but is Barack the right answer? Based on what the Democrats have currently been doing in the House of Reps I really don’t think Barack is the right answer. Nancy Pelosi promised big changes when she took over as speaker of the house. If high gas prices, a credit crisis and a crumbling housing market is what she promised we are in big trouble. Many people do not like President Bush but remember there is more to a government than just the president.
