Yesterday afternoon was a pretty miserable day here in NYC … until a rainstorm broke out midday and washed away all of the gross humidity. It’s so funny … I’m usually very accustomed to seeing rain just fall out of the sky, randomly on any given day … but because there really isn’t any weather to speak of in SoCal (I don’t think it’s rained in months) it’s become a novelty to me. I kinda miss it … I really miss thunderstorms … but I’m getting off point. After the rain, the weather cooled off considerably so it didn’t feel quite so bad when we went out last night.

I met up with some folks from Elle magazine to chat for a bit last night because I wanted to meet and thank in person Erin for helping me with the Project Runway Finale Fashion Show I got to attend with Nina Garcia earlier this year. We had a nice time last night … just gabbing and getting to know one another.

After drinks, David and I grabbed some food from a great place called Aja and then we might’ve picked up some Tastee-D-Lite on the way home.

Tonight I’m heading out to see Liz Phair at the Hiro Ballroom where she will be doing the first of two shows in celebration of the release of her re-release of Exile on Guyville. I am very excited and will do my best to snap some fun pics to share tomorrow. Hope you’re beating the heat wherever you are!!!

Yesterday we saw pics of Justin Timberlake shopping up a storm all over Paris, France hitting up all the big French design houses except for Givenchy … and now we know why. JT, who is the new face of Givenchy fragrances, got all dolled up to attend the Givenchy launch party at Mini Palais on the Champs-Élysées last night after his long day of shopping … here are a few pics:

BET took over the Shrine Auditorium in LA last night to throw their biggest party of the year … The BET Awards. Covering a range of categories — from music to athletics to comedy to acting — the BET Awards honors the folks who gave us the best performances over the last year … you know, just like pretty much everyone else (from MTV to TV Land) does. Here are a few pics of some of the lovely ladies who made their way down the red carpet last night:

For the most part, all of the ladies who showed up for the BET Awards were lookin’ pretty hot … only Lil’ Kim looked a little peeved at something. She was throwin’ dagger with her eyes all over the place … dunno what her deal was. Nonetheless, there was a whole lotta pretty on the red carpet. Only the guys wore the ridiculous outfits (Chris Brown shopping with Michael Jackson? T-Pain shopping with a blind assistant?). But the BET Awards aren’t only about the fashions … they also had a few awards to hand out to some deserving folks …

Trent Reznor has updated the official Nine Inch Nails website with the last of 3 rehearsal videos (click HERE to watch the video for 1,000,000 and click HERE to watch the video for Letting You) that were filmed recently and will be available on the bonus DVD that will come packaged with the retail version of their latest album The Slip, due out on July 22. Even tho The Slip is available for FREE DOWNLOAD I am very much interested in picking up the physical CD version of the album. Not only does it come with a bonus DVD of live material (there are at least 5 rehearsal videos on the DVD) but there is a rumor going around that there *may* be a “secret” bonus disc with extra material included as well. Amazon lists the album’s release as a 3-disc set — 1 CD, 1 DVD and another CD? At this point, nothing that Trent Reznor does would surprise me. Is it possible that he may throw in an extra disc of music for his loyal fans who choose to purchase an album he’s already giving away for free? Sure. Is it possible that this rumored bonus disc is merely the fabrication of overzealous fans? Absolutely. In any event, I feel that the release is deffo worth picking up … especially for completists.

Lastly, if you’re interested in tracking the NIN Lights In The Sky Tour via Google Earth, you can download a file HERE that will allow you to zoom in on each city the tour will be visiting and follow the band as they tour North America. Sounds fun. I think only geeks need apply but it’s a neat little option nonetheless.

Now … this is interesting … Kylie Minogue was spotted enjoying an intimate family meal with her ex-boyfriend Olivier Martinez in Paris, France yesterday afternoon a little over a year since the couple split up (back in February 2007). It was rumored (tho never confirmed) that Olivier had cheated on Kylie and that was the cause for the breakup. But it looks like any ill-will that may have existed after their split is long gone … Kylie invited Olivier to lunch with her, her parents Ron and Carol Minogue and her BFF/stylist William Baker — and the couple looked as close as ever:

For months, Kylie Minogue has denied rumours of a reconciliation with her former lover Olivier Martinez, insisting they’re simply friends who share a ‘special bond’. But if their affectionate hugs and loving looks over lunch in Paris yesterday are any indication, their romance is back in full swing. The pop princess looked happier than ever as she dined with the French actor, her parents Ron and Carol and stylist William Baker while on a break from her KylieX2008 tour. They split in February last year following rumours that he had been unfaithful. They dated for four years and Kylie had treatment for breast cancer in Paris rather than in Australia to be with him. Kylie described Olivier as ‘her rock’ and later said they would always remain friends following the tough times they shared. However the pair have been spotted keeping company in recent times – Olivier was even present in the audience at her opening show in Paris last month. A reconciliation has apparently been in the works for some time, with a source telling the Daily Mail in February: “A mutual Parisian friend passed a message on to Kylie that Ollie was pining for her and deeply regretted the break-up. Two weeks later, Ollie called her late one night when he was a bit drunk. That was their first conversation in almost a year. Since that time, they have been regularly calling, having intense conversations and texting incessantly. Ollie has told her he is ready to start a family, to marry her and to settle down.”

Now, just because a former couple is seen laughing and hugging one another doesn’t necessarily mean that the couple have rekindled their romance … it’s possible that they could’ve stayed good friends (especially after all they went thru when they were together). But it does seem curious that Kylie would invite Olivier to dine with her parents (a very intimate thing, I think) and I understand that Kylie and Olivier got together when she visited Los Angeles earlier this year to promote her latest album X (the couple were spotted dining together and then Olivier drove off with Kylie on his bicycle — she rode on the handlebars!) soooooo … who knows. Irregardless of what is going on, whether it be of a romantic nature or not, it’s really great to see Kylie looking so happy. Whatever it is that is happening here, I hope she’s truly happy. I also hope she’s enjoying her downtime from her KylieX2008 Tour cuz I’d like her all rested up and ready for the London show I’m planning to see next month.

Harlow Winter Madden must’ve been feelin’ the itch to get outside and take in the cool evening breeze cuz here are a few photos of Harlow draggin’ her parents, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, out for a little late afternoon/early evening stroll yesterday in Glendale, CA:

Along the way, Harlow decided that she needed some new toys … so the parentals took the little darling to Zuza’s Euro Toys to pick up a few things for her. I imagine it is difficult (or downright impossible) to deny this beautiful little girl anything her heart desires. Yeah, she’s gonna basically run the show for the rest of her life. It’s gonna be fun watching Nic/Joel jump thru hoops to keep her happy ;)

Season 3 of Dexter is still months away from debuting here in the US but season 2 of the show is about to launch in other parts of the world. Here are a few examples of some of the guerrilla advertising techniques that are being employed to promote the show in Lisbon, Portugal:

Hahahahaha … I love it! This is such a great way to promote such an awesome show. I wonder if this sort of thing would be possible here in the US. I really feel like we may be so uptight that people might be offended and complain if they found “dead” people lying around on the street … sheesh, go figure.
