Becks Unveils More Bulge

Earlier this evening, David Beckham made a personal appearance at the Macy’s in Union Square in San Francisco, CA (he was accompanied by his entire family — Pink reader Stacy spotted Becks, Vicki B., the kids and their nanny having lunch at One Market earlier in the day) to unveil a new mural featuring a new photo from his new ad campaign for Armani Underwear. Here is the first of the 5 new photos of Becks modeling the Autumn/Winter Armani Underwear collection:

David Beckham already got hearts racing around the globe with his sexy Emporio Armani ad campaign earlier in the year, and tonight he’s unveiling his new campaign — starting with a giant mural facing Macy’s in San Francisco. The hunky soccer player will reveal one of the campaign images shot by renowned fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott on the beaches of Malibu.

The full set of new Becks Armani Underwear photos won’t be released online at emporioarmani.com until June 23 but there was one more new photo revealed in San Francisco tonight …

Robin Thicke Is ‘Something Else’

Here is the first promo pic of supersexy Robin Thicke to promote his first single, Magic, off this new album, Something Else, which is due to for release in September … check it out:

See, the hat deffo works on a guy like Prince but I’m not sure it’s really right for Robin. I get the look that he’s going for is that sexy, Prince-like vibe but I much prefer seeing him full-on, not hiding underneath a hat. Still, the man is a sexy beast no matter what he’s wearing. I quite LOVE his last album and can’t wait to hear what new sexiness he’s got on his new album. Head on over to Robin‘s official My Space profile to stream his first single Magic for a taste of things to come.

Lola’s Lip Service

Okay … so I saw these pictures of Madonna‘s eldest child (and only begotten daughter) Lourdes Maria Ciccone Leon enjoying a night out with friends at a *gasp* Avril Lavigne concert at the O2 Arena in London a couple of weeks ago. Because I was so appalled that young Lola appears to have horrid musical tastes, I didn’t really pay close attention to the photos … until now. It seems clear that Lola is rockin’ a lip ring on her lip in these pics — the question becomes, is it a real piercing or is it a fake piercing?

My best educated guess is that the lip ring is not a real piercing because I cannot believe that Madonna would allow her 11 year old daughter to get a piercing of any kind (especially since she doesn’t allow her children to even watch TV) … altho, back in the day, when Madonna was all controversial and stuff, I’d've not been surprised to learn that any child of hers would be pierced and/or tattooed — at any age. But I’m getting off point. While I think it’s cute for Lourdes to try and act cool (just like every other kid), I think it’s really cute that she’s trying to look badass by wearing a lip ring at an Avril Lavigne concert. Maybe if Maddy let her kids watch more TV they’d have a better idea of what passes for “cool” cuz I’m not sure that Lola quite gets it just yet.

Britney Spears Is On The Move

With rumors going around that Britney Spears is on the verge of selling her old Studio City mansion for a new mansion closer to her children (who currently live in Tarzana, CA with their father Kevin Federline), it prolly feels like a good time to get the hell out of town … therefore, Britney packed up her personal assistant, her father/conservator Jamie Spears and (recent new addition to her entourage) her older brother Bryan Spears (who was just named as one of People magazine’s Hottest Bachelors for 2008) and made her way to LAX airport today bound for destination unknown … here are a few pics:

It makes sense that Papa Jamie Spears would be anxious for Britney to sell her Studio City home … you may recall it as the site where Britney suffered her last mental breakdown and had to be carted away to the hospital on a gurney in front of the world’s media. I would want to clear that memory form my family’s history as well. It’s unclear where the Spears fam are heading off to … they could pop up anywhere. I guess we’ll just have to wait and watch.*

*Clearly, I lost my head … Brit and co. showed up in Kentwood, LA to be with Jamie Lynn Spears at the end of pregnancy — but she could’ve been on her way to London to shoot a new music video (a report that came from Larry Rudolph) so I wasn’t sure which rumor to go with.

The TV Guide

Yesterday was pretty much a wash … neither David nor I left the apartment for any amount of time. He was bizzy all day long with work stuff and I was quieting doing work of my own with the site and with the archives of PITNBv1. The IE issue we had over the weekend has been fixed and the site is pretty close to perfect for me. I’m very, very happy. To be honest, it was a really great day over all … David and I got to spend all of our time together and even tho we were both wrapped up in our own biz, it was nice working alongside him as the day progressed. I watched a portion of the NBA Finals last night but after the Celtics took a 20 point lead, I kinda had to stop watching the slaughter (they ended up winning the NBA Championship with a 39 point lead over the piteous Lakers).

Alas, David has already left for the airport, which is sad, but I will be flying back to NYC this Sunday so I’ll be seeing him again in a few days :)

I will be leaving my apt. today … I have a meeting in town and then I may just stay out and enjoy the day … tho, I hear the temperature will reach the 100s in the Valley today. OY! Hope all y’all are having a fabulous Tuesday Wednesday — OY, I’m a bit out of it :)

Firefox Sets A New World Record

After hitting a bit of a snag right at the appointed 10am PT launch time, Mozilla managed to successfully launch the third version of their popular Firefox web browser at 11am PT yesterday and went on to serve over 8 million downloads of the software. They are hoping that the good folks at Guinness World Records will certify this as a new world record (one that has never been previously certified):

Mozilla on Tuesday released an improved version of its Firefox web browser that has gained popularity as a free alternative to Microsoft’s ubiquitous Internet Explorer. Mozilla said Firefox 3 promises Internet surfing that is fast, secure, and easy to customize because it is designed to adapt to people’s online activities. The company claimed the new Firefox version, available in 50 languages, is at least twice as fast as its predecessor and boasts “15,000 improvements” including malware protection. “We’re really proud of Firefox 3 and it just shows what a committed, energized global community can do when they work together,” Mozilla chief executive John Lilly said in a release. The Mozilla Foundation is a nonprofit organization that builds and refines public, open-source software in a collaborative manner with input from engineers around the world. Mozilla is rallying devotees to help it set a Guinness World Record for the largest number of software downloads in 24 hours. But interest in the Mountain View, California, organization’s new-generation browser was so intense before its release Tuesday that traffic to the Mozilla website caused it to crash. Free downloads of Firefox 3 commenced at http://www.getfirefox.com after the problem was fixed. Firefox 3 is available free for computers using Windows, Linux, and Macintosh OSX operating systems. Since its initial launch in 2004, Firefox has spread to more than 175 million users and 230 countries, according to Mozilla. Mozilla was originally a web navigator code name at defunct Internet firm Netscape when it dominated the Internet browser world more than a decade ago. Netscape eventually was eclipsed by Internet Explorer, and the company was bought in 1998 by America Online and reduced to brand status. The Mozilla Organization was established in 1998 to complete the free, open-source software project and it registered as a nonprofit foundation in July of 2003.

The folks at Microsoft cheered on the Firefox 3 launch by sending over a congratulatory cake to the Mozilla folks yesterday …

… which I thought was pretty dope of them to do. I’ve been a fan of Firefox since it came out in 2004 (I was even on Team Netscape back in the day) so I’ve been playing with Firefox 3 since it came out as a beta version (it is deffo my browser of choice). Even still, I downloaded the software yesterday just to be part of the world record attempt:

This does all sound a bit nerdy, but I spend a considerable amount of my days (every day, in fact) on the computer and Firefox makes my web browsing experience much easier and more stable (which is key when you’re blogging … crashing browsers make you lose all your work, which can easily drive a person insane). I hope that the Guinness folks give them the world record … they’ve worked really hard to set this new standard.

Kristin Davis Visits Jerusalem

Sex and the City star Kristin Davis has made her way to the Holy Land this week to do some promo work for Ahava skin care products, which she is the spokesmodel for. Here are a couple pics of Kristin upon arrival in Jerusalem this week and a few more pics of KD making her way about town:

In “Sex and the City,” her character converts out of love for her Jewish husband. But in her first visit to the Jewish State, Kristin Davis refused to say if that was a case of art imitating life. The 43-year-old actress toured Jerusalem’s Old City on Tuesday as part of her campaign to promote Israel’s Ahava skin products. At a news conference, she praised Israeli women for their natural quality, love of fashion and for “being comfortable in their own skins.” Davis said she was not nearly as naive or conservative as her fictional character. Still, there was no “Sex and the Old City” talk — despite some creative questions from reporters. Davis played Charlotte York on the popular HBO series “Sex and the City,” which was recently expanded into a hit movie. Her character is a prim Park Avenue socialite turned Jewish wife. Davis, who is single, said she learned about the religion on the set, but when asked if she liked Jewish men in real life, she refused to discuss her romances. She also declined to discuss Israeli politics or the Mideast conflict, but when asked whom she endorsed for U.S. President she flashed a big smile and emphatically said “Obama!” “He is fantastic, and it’s a very exciting time in America,” she said. She said she and her fellow “Sex and the City” actors Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall and Cynthia Nixon “love Hillary”, but now that Clinton was out of the picture would put their star power behind Obama. “We are Democrats,” she said. Ahava CEO Yaacov Ellis said Davis perfectly represented the company’s core values of “beauty, nature and life.” The company’s products are based on the beneficial qualities of the Dead Sea.

AWWWW, I love it … it kinda feels like Charlotte York is the one who journeyed to Jerusalem to shill for Ahava skin care … cuz, you know, I have a hard time separating reality from fiction. In any event, she looks great in these pics and I’m happy that she is enjoying the spotlight all on her own, without any of her co-stars horning in on the lurve (SJP, I’m talkin’ to you). It’s just a shame that she had to journey to the other side of the planet to stand apart on her own.

Signals the End of the World
Breaking News: Paris Hilton Shuns Photographers

So how’s this for odd behavior … Paris Hilton, who is currently in NYC, was snapped sneaking out the backdoor of Club Marquee on her way to Club 1 Oak last night — and she actively tried to hide her face from view behind her purse … like, she was actually trying to avoid being photographed … like, WTF?!?

In recent weeks, I’ve noticed that Paris has really been cleaning up her act. Since she started dating Benji Madden of Good Charlotte, Paris has put her partying on lock-down, has been dressing more conservatively and more classily (is that even a word?) and has managed to keep control of herself in such a manner as to avoid getting into trubs — there’s been nary a nip slip or crotch shot in months! And now she’s decided she no longer wants attention from the paparazzi?! I’m shocked and aghast. I don’t know if this is the sort of behavior we should expect from Paris from here on out but … I’m just trying to pick my chin up off the floor so I can process properly. I mean … seriously … WTF?!

Prince Harry Honors Britain’s Fallen Soldiers

Prince Harry was among the soldiers who participated in a parade/ceremony to honor the 24 British, Danish, American and Czech soldiers who lost their lives during the deployment of the 52 Infantry Brigade in Helmand Province from October 2007 to April 2008 — the same tour of duty that Prince Harry secretly served in Afghanistan himself. Here are a few photos of Prince Harry among the 200 servicemen and women on Edinburgh’s historic Royal Mile ahead of a service at the city’s St Giles’ Cathedral earlier today:

PRINCE Harry took part in a memorial to troops who fell during his tour of Afghanistan today. The 23-year-old Household Cavalry officer joined 200 servicemen and women on Edinburgh’s historic Royal Mile ahead of a service at the city’s St Giles’ Cathedral. The event was held to pay tribute to the 24 British, Danish, American and Czech soldiers who lost their lives during the deployment of the 52 Infantry Brigade in Helmand Province from October to April. But it came as news emerged of the deaths of four British soldiers in a blast east of Lashkar Gah. Harry was among the 200 soldiers, sailors and airmen representing their units in the colourful parade through the centre of Edinburgh’s Old Town. The troops, led by a dozen-strong pipe band, were applauded by the hundreds of onlookers who made their way down to the cathedral from the start at Johnston Terrace. There were shouts of “Well done” as the soldiers passed by. Harry wore his khaki service dress and a navy cap with a red trim. The troops went on to join families of those killed or wounded at the memorial service, along with UK Defence Secretary Des Browne and his Danish counterpart, Soren Gade. The Prince spent 10 weeks on the frontline before being flown home in February amid fears for his safety when his deployment was reported in foreign media. Around 7,500 soldiers were deployed under 52 Brigade command on Operation Herrick 7. The Brigade, whose headquarters are at Edinburgh Castle, handed over to 16 Air Assault on April 10. Harry’s involvement was kept secret by the UK media to prevent details reaching the Taliban and endangering him and his comrades. He was removed after news was leaked on a US website.

It’s great that Harry wanted to be part of this memorial event today. I’m sure it meant a lot to him to stand up and publicly honor his fallen comrades so that the public is aware of their sacrifice. His involvement in today’s ceremony brings more attention to the event and does raise public awareness (ie. I had no idea this event was to take place and now I do). Unlike Prince William‘s military involvement (which has been relegated to sequestered service in flight school, on tiny boats, etc.), Harry‘s involvement put him right in danger’s way. Now, I’m not entirely sure how much danger Prince Harry was really in when he served in Afghanistan earlier this year but I know it wasn’t entirely safe. The princes are really making a public show of their military service that likens them to any other British citizen who chooses to serve in the military … which is a far cry from the way leaders in our government operate when it comes to military service (ie. you don’t see the Bush daughters serving in the military). Props and kudos go out to the princes of England for their service, no matter how real or unreal it may be.
