Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal spent part of their weekend enjoying a private yoga class together in Santa Monica, CA yesterday morn … the couple were snapped carrying their colorful yoga mats as they made their way into the class. The couple looked happy to be going to class together but something tells me that Jake’s mind was … elsewhere:

Don’t get me wrong … I understand that yoga is a great way to get in shape and can even be fun (I even plan on giving it a try one of these days … but most prolly by way of Wii Fit rather than an actual yoga class) but Jake looked a lot happier back when he was workin’ out with and hanging out daily with his shirtless bros Matthew McConaughey and Lance Armstrong. Ah well … Jake has settled down with Reese and her kiddies (I guess) so he must like the quiet life … yeah … right.

Since it’s Father’s Day and all and since I made mention of this story yesterday, I guess it makes sense to post a short little follow up today … Privé nightclub in Las Vegas, NV felt it necessary to name Kevin Federline (father of four [by two different women], ex-hubby to Britney Spears and plain white rapper) as the Father of the Year for 2008. Yesterday I posted pics of The Federline as he walked the red carpet and today we have a pic of K-Fed posing with his two BHFs (best homies forever) with his Father of the Year trophy:

I understand that K-Fed’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, was among the folks in his entourage rollin’ with the big dawg on Friday night. I also hear that even tho there was an Ed Hardy Intimates fashion show (featuring Miss Nevada Veronica Grabowsky) going on nearby his VIP table, K-Fed kept his eyes to himself and was on his best behavior. HMMM. For some reason, The Federline chose not to have his Father of the Year trophy awarded to him in front of the nightclub crowd (choosing instead to have the award ceremony happen backstage, privately … which I find odd since he agreed to accept the award in the first place — and from a nightclub). Nevertheless, Privé nightclub owner Justin Levine presented K-Fed with his trophy backstage … in what looks like a storage closet. Again, despite his past foibles, I’m cool with K-Fed getting a bit of props for his recent actions as a father. This trophy cup seems like the perfect representation of his accomplishments this past year.

Thank the Lord Jebus and all heavenly creatures in all of existence … Matthew McConaughey has, at long last, lost his shirt. You know, I really took for granted the day to day shirtlessness that Matthew bestowed upon us pretty much all last year and the year before. Why, it would be commonplace for Matthew to go for a jog, go for a bike ride, go for a cup of coffee without wearing half of his clothes (the unnecessary top half). These days, now that he’s all ready to be a father by getting his girlfriend (and Brazilian model) Camila Alves pregs, he’s all serious and stuff … and dressing properly. Whatevs. At least the guy can loosen up enough (again) to strip off his clothes for a day at the beach with his bros and a Bud Light (or 12) … behold:

Ah … I’ve missed those pecs, those sinewy muscles, those pecs, those abs … those pecs. Le sigh. Well, at least we can take heart that Matty is clearly still working out as much as he can to ensure that when he finally does disrobe that it’s still worth checkin’ out. I suspect that homeboy will be putting his goods back on lock-down soon enough so I’m gonna enjoy the pecs pics while I still can. Summer is heating up tho … maybe the arid SoCal sun will inspire the man to strip off his clothing again … we can only hope.

First things first today … I have to send out lots of lurve and respect to all the dads out there who are celebrating Father’s Day today. While moms get the lion’s share of the L.O.V.E. much of the time, dads are happy to just stay back and add to the chorus of mom lurve (at least, that is how my dad operates). But, today is the day that we focus on how amazing good dads are and we celebrate their greatness. In years past, I’ve posted photos of hot Hollywood dads in my usual Father’s Day posts but today I’d like to post a pic of my own dad, who I love and miss and wish I could be with today:

Since my mom can’t miss being in every single photo I ever try to take when I’m home, I had a hard time finding a pic of just me and my dad (altho, there is one pic of me and my dad at the Michigan State Fair when I was about 6 years old … it’s at my parent’s home back in Michigan. That is the pic I wanted to use in this post but I don’t have a copy here in Cali). Anyways, I hope all ya’ll are able to spend some time with your dads today or at least are able to give them a call to say how much you love them … or are able to spend just a bit of time thinking about your dad and what he means to you.
