New Arrival

Saturday, June 14th, 2008

Here are a few photos that were snapped, presumably, on the set of Lindsay Lohan’s new movie Labor Pains (currently filming in cities all over The Valley here in SoCal) which feature a new book that will either really be “released” in the film or, as a better guess, will be used in a dream sequence in the film … check it out:

Heh … looks cute. I’m really hoping that this new movie is a return to Lindsay’s comedic form (a la Mean Girls) and doesn’t turn out to be another lemon (like pretty much every movie she’s made since Mean Girls). I have faith that Linds has more hits up her sleeve … I just want her to start unleashing them before folks stop caring.

Just Xanadu It

Saturday, June 14th, 2008

Cast members of the Broadway hit musical Xanadu performed a medley of songs from the show yesterday morning live on air for the CBS Early Show in order to show folks who may not have seen the show yet just how amazing the show is … here are a few pics from the cast’s performance:

If you are one of the unlucky folks who have yet to see the show or may have missed seeing the performance yesterday morning you can click HERE to see what you’ve been missing. Xandu is deffo my pick for the Best Musical of the Year award at this year’s Tony Awards (which air on CBS tomorrow night at 8pm) so I’ve got all my fingers and toes crossed for them. Check out the vid … even absent all of Cheyenne Jackson’s insane hawtness, there is a lot to appreciate in the fun clip.

Separation Anxiety

Saturday, June 14th, 2008

While Kevin Federline made his way to Las Vegas to receive a Father of the Year award from Privé nightclub, Britney Spears (who also made her way to Sin City this weekend) spent her time in town relaxing with her father, Papa Jamie Spears, in celebration of Father’s Day. Even tho Brit Brit and K-Fed are both in Las Vegas this weekend, I suspect that never the twain shall meet:

Although Britney Spears and Kevin Federline were in Las Vegas on Friday, the former couple managed to navigate the social scene without running into each other. While Spears, 26, relaxed and sipped water in a cabana at the Cinevegas party at the Palms Place, Federline drank Jack Daniels at Strip House only a few miles away. And while Spears’s night ended early, her ex kept the party going past 3 a.m. at Prive Las Vegas, where he was honored as “Father of the Year” … Spears, celebrating Father’s Day weekend with her dad Jamie, ate fresh fruit and sunned herself for three hours Friday at the newly opened Palms Place pool. Later, she began her night with a low-key dinner with a friend and a member of her security staff at the Palms restaurant Nove, where she feasted on an artichoke dish. After donning a short black cocktail dress, the singer attended the Cinevegas party with her father, Palms hotel owner George Maloof and his business associate Jon Gray. In a private cabana, Spears showed little emotion as she sipped water and chatted with her group for two hours. Spears is reportedly staying the weekend in Las Vegas, while Federline is expected to head back to Los Angeles on Saturday to spend Father’s Day with his children, including his sons with Spears, Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1.

Well, I guess Spederline prolly thought it best that they enjoy separate weekends despite the fact that they are both in Vegas at the same time. I’m not sure what the relationship is between Britney and Kevin at this point in their lives (they rarely see each other in person, the kids get handed off between parents by way of bodyguards and nannies). I would imagine that they are friendly but it looks like they aren’t friendly enough to enjoy one another’s company while on vacation. Meh, as long as Britters is enjoying herself with her father and K-Fed is happy with his trophy … that’s all that really matters.

K-Fed: Father Of The Year

Saturday, June 14th, 2008

Privé nightclub in Las Vegas, NV hosted an evening with Kevin Federline last night where the daddy mack was on site to accept his award from the club as Father of the Year. In everything I’ve heard or read about this “award ceremony” there has been no mention of what criteria K-Fed met to win such an award nor have I come across anything that justifies a nightclub awarding this award to anyone in particular … but there you have it. Here are a few pics of Privé’s Father of the Year as he took to the red carpet last night:

Kevin Federling has been named Father of the Year by Las Vegas club Prive. “I’m surprised,” Federline said when asked how it felt to win the title. Britney’s ex, 30, hit up the club with eight male pals — including divorce attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan — just before 1 a.m. Saturday morning. Federline — also named a Power Player last year — had a quiet night at the club, chilling with friends and pumping his fist into the air when Timbaland’s “The Way I Are” was played by the DJ. Prive presented Federline his Father of the Year trophy “someplace quiet” at the dad-of-four’s request, so clubgoers didn’t see the ceremony, according to a source. He was gone by 3:15 a.m.

Now see … I don’t really have the same ire for the man that I used to back in the day when I thought he was a man-leech feeding off Britney Spears. I think that he has grown up a bit (especially since the divorce) and, from the way it seems from an outsider’s viewpoint, has become a relatively responsible father. He managed to keep his family together while his former wife Britney Spears was falling apart and took great pains to ensure that their children were shielded from her then dangerous actions. I think it says a lot that Britney’s parents, Mama Lynne and Papa Jamie Spears, sided with K-Fed while Brit was imploding and looked to Kevin to ensure that the kids were well cared for. If you take all of this stuff into consideration, I can see how K-Fed might be worthy of a Father of the Year title. In this respect, I feel it necessary to join in on the congratulations for The Federline. Now, if he would just ensure that he’ll never make rap music again, I’d happily give him an award of my own.

Just a little update … things have been going along perfectly since the relaunch … and then the weekend happened ;) This morning some users of Internet Explorer discovered that the page wouldn’t load — at all. I’m still not entirely sure what the problem is but there seems to be some conflict in the coding somewhere. I’m gonna do my best to push forward and keep on bloggin’ as the tech probs get resolved. If you notice something and want to send it along, please do … it’ll help with getting all the problems fixed for good. UGH … growing pains are fun, huh?
