Our dear Britney Spears, who made her way to Japan last week, has been keeping herself pretty bizzy in the Land of the Rising Sun over the past few days. Her official site, BritneySpears.com and her Twitter profile, has been updating us fans with photos of her adventures and it looks like Brit Brit has been getting in some vacay time interspersed with her promo work. First up, here are a few pics of Britney strolling the streets with her assistant Brett Miller as they did a bit of shopping and eating together:
Ahead of her X Factor performance, Britney Spears was on a strict diet to ensure she looked her best – and munching on a tasty burger would have been unthinkable. But yesterday the Womanizer singer was seen heading towards a fast food joint as she spent the afternoon in Japan’s trendy Harajuku on a shopping spree. Spears went to the the Lotteria chain – which has a similar menu to McDonald’s – before hitting the clothes shops. Not only was she being unhealthy in her choice of food, but she was also seen smoking a cigarette to top off the blow-out afternoon. The 27-year-old sported a black and white coat over a green polo neck top and was accompanied by her assistant and security guard. Maybe decided to have a blow-out to celebrate the success of her latest album Circus, which went to number one in the U.S. album charts last week after selling 505,000 copies in its first week of release. And after being released [in the UK], it has become her fastest selling album in the UK to date. In addition to reaching Number One in the U.S., the record entered at the top of the charts in Brazil, Canada, Japan, Mexico and Switzerland.
Um, yeah … she deffo deserves to pamper and splurge a little, I’d say. But, it wasn’t all vacationing for Britney … she also had some work to do. Here is a pic of Britney performing Womanizer on the hit TV show Hey!Hey!Hey! last night:

Oh yes, everything is coming up Britney these days! So glad to hear that things are going well in Japan, I believe she has one more performance left to do before she can return home to SoCal. Also, very pleased that Womanizer was voted the Best Video of the Year by Fuse TV viewers — well done! Something tells me that this is only the beginning of the accolades coming Britney‘s way. I’m very much looking forward to what’s to come.

@ Laura — I think Brett is the best assistant Britney has had since Felicia Culotta. Britney has had some very shady assistants (like Carla and that traitorous Shannon Funk … and let’s not forget Alli Sims) but I think Brett is good for Brit. I understand that Larry Rudolph helped get her the job.

haha thanks nickki thats what I figured, I was sitting here squinting at it cause it really looked like it even had the glare from over the glass, but now that you point it out I see it in the other pic too…obvs I’m way over due for an eye exam.
I have to admit, Britney is getting better. First, I am a big Britney fan, but I’ve been bashing her for her lackluster performances lately, especially on this site. However, after a few rounds of the same performance, I can see that she is gradually getting her confidence back. I am really happy. Keep it up Britney!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love her look – the emerald green top, and the black & white houndstooth or checker (or whatever the pattern is on that jacket) look great together.
I’m sure Brett was right there to help clean up any fast food that might’ve gotten slopped on Brit’s lovely attire in her haste to enjoy some *real* food for the first time in awhile :)
Hey… Who is the main guy Britney dances with? He is one of her dancers. The one “playing the womanizer.” He is gorgeous… :) I think I recognize him as the guy who had his head painted checkered from her 2004 Oynx Hotel Tour … yes?
I thought she had really smartened up but to see her smoking again I realize that she hasn’t come as far as I thought she did

I love her. I do. but dear god, the girl has got to start singing and not mouthing the words!! it’s just getting ridiculous at this point. the songs are catchy and fun but so digitally enhanced sounding. *sigh*
You can tell that she is incorporating newer dance moves (probably from her upcoming tour choreography) and definitely looking more confident. She is even back to doing her signature “double twirl” that I haven’t seen her do in any of the other performances! She was probably in a good mood because she isn’t being followed by 50+ photographers around Japan.
As for the smoking, it sucks, but what can you do. In her “For the Record” documentary she’s playing with her cigarette lighter in the limo near the beginnning. My husband noticed that, hehe. Anyway, she does look SO much more confident in her performance. Was anyone else wondering why they had English subtitles for the song? Why was it not in Japanese?

I’m confused about something…Why was the song “Radar” released on Blackout AND Circus? They didn’t even change it up. Its annoying…anyone know what the reasoning behind that idea was?
I’m used to seeing a different “candid” Britney. That checkered swing coat and green turtleneck combo with the normal bootcut jeans and sophisticated high heels…God, she looks sexier in that than anything else! She’s definitely growing into a mature, respectable woman now. GORGEOUS look!
I watched her performance last night and again tonight on TV and I totally agree she needs to sing. It just sounds like a computer. Also, I wish she would wear more clothes on Japanese TV. Doesn’t she have people to tell her these things… like tonight her message to Japan was to have a wonderful Christmas. She looked nervous (both shows commented on how quickly she left the stage) but I think that was more because of the language barrier.
About the subtitles, that’s just what they do here. Everything said on TV is subbed. If a Japanese person says a sentence with an English word in it, they’ll most likely write it in English as well. In this case, the words are there more for singing along than for understanding.
The kebab picture is totally not in Lotteria (the burger joint). She probably didn’t even go in there. She’s just waiting to cross the road near the ad. Just shows the paps will try and make a story out of anything.
