Casey Aldridge Exercises Poor Judgement At Wal-Mart

The boy's not too bright, y'all

In other Spears-related news, I feel that I have to nominate new teenage dad Casey Aldridge as Moron of the Year. According to a new report from TMZ, Casey thought it would be a brilliant idea to snap a bunch of private, family photos — including one of his teenage bride babymama Jamie Lynn Spears exposing her left breast as she nursed their new born baby daughter Maddie Briann — and then take his camera to his friendly neighborhood Wal-Mart so that he could make a few copies of said photos. It never occurred to him that processing photos of his very famous family at a place like Wal-Mart might not be the best idea, especially since those Wal-Mart employees make minimum wage and the huge pay-out for private Spears family photos can be very high. It now turns out, according to the report, that federal and state authorities have gotten involved to help track down the photo peddlers because the exposed breast photo of JL is considered “child pornography” since she is still underage, even tho she’s already a mother. Um. Yeah:

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ federal and local authorities are on the hunt for someone peddling 12 pics of Britney Spears, Jamie Lynn, daughter Maddie and baby daddy Casey Aldridge. One of the pictures shows Jamie Lynn breast feeding Maddie — Jamie Lynn’s left breast is exposed. The pics were taken on Casey’s digital camera. We’re told he took the camera card to his local Wal-Mart in Louisiana for copies. Law enforcement believes someone at the Wal-Mart may have made extra copies, then tried selling them. Because Jamie Lynn is a minor, selling the pics — or buying them — could constitute a violation of federal laws prohibiting pornography. Peddling pictures of a minor’s breast — even if not taken for sexual purposes — could land the seller and the buyer in federal prison if they are marketed across state lines for the purpose of being lurid. Also, anyone purchasing the pics could be prosecuted for the crime of receiving stolen property. Other pics in the set include Britney holding the baby and one of Jamie Lynn, Britney, Brian (Brit’s bro), Lynne Spears and Jamie Spears around Jamie Lynn’s hospital bed. There are also pics of Maddie by herself, and there’s a picture of Jamie Lynn in a negligee holding the baby. Authorities are trying to find the man who is attempting to sell the photos. In addition, we’re told Britney’s lawyers are thinking about going after Wal-Mart for the alleged security breach.

I mean … really? It never occurred to Casey that developing photos like this at Wal-Mart might be a bad idea? While it is grossly unfair that celebrities have to take extra precautions with things like this, I think it makes a wee bit more sense to mebbe invest in a $100 photo printer to print out personal pics like this? Mebbe? I mean, yes I understand that the Wal-Mart person is ultimately responsible for this heinous crime but I simply cannot believe that Casey would be this dumb. Actually, considering the situation he got him and his teenage lover in by practicing unsafe sex, I can believe he is this dumb.

For the record, the photo above of JL and MB is not one of the pilfered pics but is a photo snapped by OK! magazine after MB‘s birth. You can tell it’s not one of Casey‘s photos cuz JL‘s breasts are fully covered.

    I don’t think he is that dumb…
Methinks he knows the schmoe at the Wal-mart!
    :P

  3. las

Okay, he is what 16 or 17 years old? I truly think a teenage boy would be that dumb – sorry Trent. I’m sure it never occured to grandmama Lynn to mention to him when he was taking the pics that he should be careful where he takes them to print.

Jamie Lynn is just as stupid for practicing unsafe sex. I know if sounds a little sexist- but ultimately women are more responsible for making sure they are having protected sex- taking birth control (properly) AND using condoms. This is kinda beside the point but when we are taking moron categorization I wouldn’t be too reluctant to throw Jamie Lynn into the mix…

    I love it.

(The 19th century called; they want their 16 year old moms back.)

  6. Angie

With all their money, I’m shocked these people don’t have some sort of photo printing machine at home to develop their pictures. Idiots.

  7. aly

Not that I would ever defend him, but maybe he was using one of those digital machines where you insert the camera card and print out the extra copies immediately yourself? I know that I have done that and would not think that walmart employees would have access to all the pictures that were printed on the machine, as you take the digital card with you when you leave……

though you would think they would have the money for an at home photo printer, they are very inexpensive….

I agree with Aly – it never occurred to me that employees could see the photos on those self-service machines. But could Casey not at least take it over to Wolf/Ritz Camera or something? I would expect those employees to be a little more discreet.

  9. heather

kudos for the sixteen year old mom who is breastfeeding!!

  10. Melinda

and THIS is another reason why children should not be having children……..ugh……..I can’t believe he actually brought these pics to Wal-Mart…….dear Jebus!!

  11. Pink

It’s a nipple Americans, get over it. The rest of the civilized world has. Only you would make a deal out of a breast doing it’s job.

  12. PixieBassline

DUDE: BUY A KODAK EASY SHARE CAMERA AND A PRINTER DOCK TO GO WITH IT!!!! Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhh.

  13. Sassy K

You call him a “celebrity”, but there’s a good chance that he doesn’t consider himself one and wouldn’t even think of having to be cautious about something so mundane as having his pictures developed. Go easy on the kid!!

  14. DESI

He probably sold the photos himself and used Walmart as a cover.
So what, I’m feeling generous today…..

  15. Joanne

I agree Sassy K – it probably never occured to him because he doesn’t even think of himself in that way … and having a teenage male brain does not help.

I just have to say this: I am a Photo Lab employee at a Wal-Mart, and it is definitely not acceptable to share photos to anyone, let alone print copies for yourself. It violates copyright regulations, as well as customer trust. I’ve seen countless orders of photos including nudity/pornography (must be shredded immediately, cannot be sold to customer), death, celebrities, and illegal activity. The employee(s) who committed this act most definitely has poor judgment, no work ethic, and I’m sure has been dealt with properly. Might I add, I earn much more than minimum wage, in fact, all Photo Associates make several dollars an hour more than minimum wage, even door greeters are started at higher than minimum wage. Even if we did make the lowest possible income, it’s should not be incentive enough to violate common practice, privacy, or the law.

  17. Brandie

In regard to the Kodak Picture Makers, or instant print photos – we, as employees, are supposed to flip through those photos as well, to screen for pornography (cannot be sold), copyrighted material (violates copyright federal laws), or for incomplete prints (checks performance of machines, or errors). If you have images you don’t want employees, or the public standing in line behind you to see, please purchase a photo printer to use at home.

    I say:
That doesn’t ‘sound a little sexist’ it IS a LOT SEXIST and you should be ashamed of yourself for saying that sh$t. Are you a woman? That makes it even worse. Anyone who practices unsafe sex is taking a risk – the risk for women happens to be greater in that they can get pregnant, but that does not make it a woman’s responsibility. When a child is born is it just her responsibility? No. Making a baby takes two – two are responsible for birth control/STD protection.

Yep they are both resposible BUT at the same time she has the FINAL say on whether or not the whole thing goes down – if hes not got a wrapper/ she isnt sure about her birth control all she has to do is to say nope — not now — Its HER body she is definately responsible for what she lets into it…Pretty sure a woman still gets to say YES or NO to the whole deal and it sticks right?
