Sarah Jessica Parker Gets De-Moled

Sarah Jessica Parker made an appearance at the 2008 All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium (to make an on-field announcement with Sheryl Crow) in the Bronx, NY this past Tuesday night and she showed up missing one important bit of accessory … her trademark mole! US Weekly reports that SJP did, indeed, have her mole surgically removed … here is a pic of SJP from her appearance at the MTV Movie Awards at the Gibson Amphitheater on June 1 with mole and a pic of SJP from the All-Star Game sans mole:

An unairbrushed photo of Sarah Jessica Parker, 43, emerged at the 79th MLB All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium in New York on Tuesday, in which her beauty mark is noticeably missing, the Huffington Post reported Wednesday. “It’s true. She did have it done,” a friend of Parker tells “There was no reason for it, it wasn’t because she didn’t like her mole, and it wasn’t because of any medical reason, it was simply because she was in the mood to have it removed. That’s all.” The Huffington Post pointed out that The New York Observer’s Rex Reed made a cruel remark about Parker’s mole in his harsh review of Sex and the City: The Movie. “There’s nothing wrong with Sarah Jessica Parker, that couldn’t be cured by wart-removal surgery. That growth on her face just gets bigger with every close-up, and in the full-length movie version of Sex and the City it’s so distracting you can’t concentrate on anything else,” Reed wrote. “It’s not a beauty mark. I guess you can’t tell a co-producer anything, but listen up, girl. At this point, you would make a wonderful Halloween witch.”

Interesting. On the one hand, I find it very hard to believe that SJP would go to such measures to remove her mole simply because of negative remarks by some people (tho, it prolly wasn’t really fun being voted the Unsexiest Woman Alive by Maxim magazine). On the other hand, if there was no medical reason for the removal then why would she remove it now, after all these years sticking with the mole. I suppose it really doesn’t matter why she had it removed … it’s gone now, never to be seen again :( I say we pour one out, pause for a moment of silence and send a hearty Peace the Spork Out to the late SJP Mole:

We’ll miss ya dearly … we knew you well. Never has a facial growth made such an impact on our lives like you did. You will be missed.

It’s about time she got rid of that nasty growth!!

  • Daniel

I have been waiting for this! I love SJP but that damn mole has always bothered me. lol

  • Mr. Gyllenhaal

LOL!! That was hilarious. I never even noticed it but I guess she did!

  • wendell

The mole never bothered me, but Rex Reed’s cruel and uncalled for remarks do. What an a-hole. SJP is so much more than her looks, although I find her adorable, as do millions of others, and for someone to criticize her in such a way is dispicable. Last time I checked, Rex Reed hasn’t won any beauty contests lately. I love SJP and the Sex and the City movie was amazing, so I guess the jokes on him after all.

That mole has always bothered me, so I’m kind of glad its gone. I just wish it had been gone while I was paying attention to her in Sex and the City… Now there is really no point, as I do not pay attention to the rest of her career.

  • The mole wasn’t the biggest issue with her face in fairness was it?

  • tammy

I have two moles on y chin and when I was younger I hated them because kids used to tease that a vampire must have bit me. I too have struggles with the decision to take them off. My problem is because I am so fair skinned my dermatologist says that they are likley to cause cancer, so I think I will start by taking one off.
Point being SJP may have had a good reason(even if she didnt tell her friend). I dont talk to my friends about my mole removal, why should she. And god bless shes a stunning woman with or without it.

  • LadyVA

Actually, considering how long she’s had it, she probably had it removed because it was cancerous.

  • JB

Thank the good lord above. Its about time. Seriously, I love her, but that mole wasn’t exactly akin to a Cindy Crawford beauty mark. Now, a little resurfacing around the eyes maybe?

  • GirlieGirl

LOL! I am SO glad its not just me.
The mole never bothered me until the movie! I guess seeing it so giant was just…. too much. Besides, it is such a simple process to have it removed.
YAY! Now I’m even MORE excited for a sequel.

just wanted to share a funny website that I came across today in my web surfing.

Too funny not to share with you all!

  • Mom

Is her nose different too? And her teeth? She looks great…but she’s always been beautiful.

  • LC

Thanks for bringing back the SPORK, Trent!! I have SO missed its soothing presence. Also, buh-bye, Moley!

  • I don’t think she should have gotten rid of it, it’s what makes her unique and not so “perfect”!!
    Cosmo Guy

  • SJP been molenapped! They’re demanding ransom! NOOOooooo!!!!

  • javajunkie

hmmmmm it kinda looks like she got more than just a mole removed? has she has some sort of face work done?

  • I have a mole on my face (by my nose) similar to SJP’s. She probably had it removed now because it has become in danger of being cancerous. At some point I will probably have to do the same thing :-( Sad really because I love my mole. Mole or no mole she is still a beautiful woman!!!

  • Ashley

I don’t think SJP is the prettiest girl in the world, but she looks very secure in herself which I think a sexy woman makes. If she wanted it off for personal reasons, no one should say a thing to her.
I have a mole a la Cindy Crawford and I HATE it! If I had the chance to take it off, I’d be first in line at the doctors!
    To each his own!!!

  • ben

    the mole was carrie bradshaw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i canot believe it, it was her look!

I think SJP is FABULOUS…mole or not..and as for her being the unsexiest woman alive…give me a BREAK! She is completely beautiful and if she wanted to have it removed, good for her, but she was gorgeous anyway.

  • Natalia

Why is everyone so irritated by the mole? It was barely noticeable. What an idiotic comment “She didn’t remove it because she didn’t like it. She didn’t remove it for medical reasons. She just felt like it.” WTF?
From interviews Ive read, she seems like a person who wouldn’t remove such a trivial thing. Her nose is definitely not a Hollywood nose, but it remains intact. Thank God there’s someone with the courage to be different.

  • Jenn

Love her character in Sex in the city. Never found her to be naturally gorgeous though. I guess if you like that hippy worn out Mom look sure go for it son!

  • cherry

I say it looks better now.But even if she still had the pimple, she still looked georgous

  • lin

she is far from ugly. I didn’t like her mole, but even with it she’s not ugly. I am sure the loser nerds at the maxim magazine know that they are out of the league of even the “ugliest” women like SJP.

  • Joanne

SJP has character in her face. She knows she will never get cast as the ‘femme fatale’ so she doesn’t need to live in a state of insecurity about her beauty like most actresses.
