While Britney Spears was steamin’ up things in Las Vegas over the weekend, Prince Wills was doing the same over in Ham, South West London where the young prince was snapped disrobing after a thrilling game of polo. Unfortch, his disrobing was relegated to his top half … but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth checking out anyways … behold:
Prince William has never failed to attract attention. But the future king turned more heads than usual when he stripped to the waist – revealing a surprisingly toned torso. William appeared to have lost some weight as he swapped shirts during a charity polo match yesterday. He looked honed in his bright red polo shirt and seemed happy to peel off as he changed afterwards … The prince was competing at the annual Chakravarty Cup event at Ham Polo Club in Richmond with his team Umbongo, to raise money for the Prince’s Trust. Kate Middleton however was nowhere to be seen as her boyfriend bared all.
As I may have mentioned before, I’m more a fan of Prince Harry but Wills can deffo hold his own weight … and toned muscle … Woot! But almost as soon as Wills stripped off his top, he put on another one and went on his merry way …
… showing up this morning wearing this getup as he was appointed to the most senior British order of chivalry, The Order of the Garter, by his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, in a ceremony at St George’s Chapel — becoming a Royal Knight Companion and the 1,000th knight in the register … which provided much hilarity for the younger Prince Harry and Wills‘s girlfriend Kate Middleton:
Prince William today joined other members of the Royal family as a Knight of the Garter. He was formally appointed to the most senior British order of chivalry by the Queen in a ceremony at St George’s Chapel, Windsor … The Order of the Garter, established by Edward III in 1348, is in the Queen’s personal gifts, without advice from government ministers. In addition to the Royal Knights there are 24 Knights Companion – the maximum permitted. Wearing the distinctive ostrich-plumed cap and velvet robes of the order, William walked next to his father, the Prince of Wales, as the knights made their traditional procession down the Castle Hill to the annual church service. He was watched by girlfriend Kate Middleton, who stood with Prince Harry, the Duchess of Cornwall and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, at the Galilee Porch entrance to the chapel. Ms Middleton, dressed in a black skirt and jacket with matching hat, smiled at William as he made his way past. It is understood to be the first time Ms Middleton has attended an official Royal public event … Each June the order, dressed in their full regalia of blue velvet capes and black velvet hats with elaborate white ostrich plumes, gather at Windsor’s St George’s Chapel for their annual service. If there are new Companions of the Order of the Garter, the Queen formally invests them with the insignia in the Throne Room of Windsor Castle. Later the Knights process on foot to a service in the chapel where there is a short service and any new Companions are officially installed. Current companions include former prime ministers Baroness Thatcher and Sir John Major, as well as Sir Winston Churchill’s daughter Lady Soames.
Er … yes … while I’m sure it’s quite an honor to be inducted into the venerated Order of the Garter, I’m sure that Wills would prefer that the ceremonial robes be revamped a bit, made a little hipper — maybe something that look more like uniforms from Hogwart’s School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and less like Robin Hood: Men In Tights. I think I speak for pretty much everyone when I say that Prince Wills looks much better wearing much less plumage.
